En la cuenca mediterránea, la mayoría de las plantas carnívoras pertenecientes al género Pinguicula habitan las paredes húmedas de montañas calizas. Estos escenarios rocosos condicionan la ecología de las poblaciones situadas en distintos exposiciones (solana versus umbría). Las diferencias temporales en la floración entre plantas que crecen en distintos microhábitats, unido a las diferencias espaciales en la distribución y abundancia de las especies de polinizadores, provocan barreras al flujo genico vía polen entre microhábitats soleados y umbríos. Estos mecanismos ecológicos pueden actuar sinérgicamente con otros factores que limitan el flujo génico, como distancia geográfica y la compleja orografía de las montañas, favoreciendo la diferenciación local. Las poblaciones de Pinguicula vallisneriifolia muestran también diferentes abundancias y estructuras demográficas dependiendo del microhábitat donde crecen las plantas. El carácter perenne y la reproducción asexual de esta planta le permite ralentizar la extinción poblacional, incluso en ausencia de reclutamiento via plántula en los lugares secos y soleados. Sin embargo, con la actual tendencia hacia una mayor aridez, los escasos micrositios adecuados para la germinación y establecimiento de plántulas se desplazan hacia los sectores de las paredes más umbríos y húmedos, pero donde el desarrollo reproductivo está limitado por la escasez de luz. Para la conservación de esta planta carnívora hay que llevar a cabo medidas de manejo para mantener un número mínimo de nichos de regeneración efectivos. La conservación de P. vallisneriifolia pasa por mantener la riqueza de escenarios ecológicos (i.e., mantener poblaciones de sol versus de sombra), como parte de la variabilidad total a conservar, no solo geográfica, sino también de escenario microclimáticoMost carnivorous plants belonging to the Pinguicula genus inhabit mountains in the Mediterranean basin. Pinguicula vallisneriifolia inhabits wet limestone rock walls and cliffs, being able to reproduce by seeds and asexually (by stolons and axillary buds). The complex orography of Mediterranean mountains favors sunny (hot and dry) and shady (cool and wet) contrasting expositions. Along the sun-shade gradient, there were variations in plant flowering phenology, as well as in animal species that interacted with the plants (prey, pollinators and kleptoparasites), even at a very restricted spatial scale. The ecological consequence is that the marked spatial variability in abiotic conditions results in a site-specific mosaic of plant-animal interactions, and hence of selective pressures of animals upon plants. Plant populations have also different demographic structures depending on the microhabitat (sunny, dry versus wet, shady). As a result, different demographic patterns appear on different localities or different habitats within the same locality: populations living in moist, shady patches show high proportions of seedlings as plants reproduce both sexually and asexually, resulting in viable populations. On the contrary, plants living in dry, sunny rocky substrates, despite sexual and asexual reproduction, have no seedling recruitment because of wet microsite limitation. These populations are, therefore, dominated by vegetative individuals. Practical guiadance are provided in order to preserve these microclimatically structured populations

Entre marzo y octubre de 2002 se compararon los ensamblajes de hormigas que forrajean en el suelo en un sistema no manejado (reserva natural El Ciprés) y en algunas fincas vecinas. En dos transectos de 100 m se instalaron estaciones de muestreo cada 10 m con trampa de caída (pitfall) y cebo de atún epígeo durante 880 h y 92 días respectivamente. En 1471 eventos de captura se determinaron 68 especies distribuidas en 26 géneros y 8 subfamilias. En el sistema silvopastoril- guayaba y en monocultivo de granadilla (Passiflora ligularis) dominaron las especies de hormigas mientras que la distribución fue más equitativa en los usos del terreno con estructura vegetal más compleja (bosque, café, sucesión temprana y banco de forrajes). El sistema silvopastoril-guayaba fue el más rico en especies (31) seguido por café (30) y por el bosque y la sucesión temprana (29). El flujo de especies fue alto en bosque, café y sucesión temprana, indicando que la calidad de la matriz es factor importante para el mantenimiento de la biodiversidad.

Rev.esc.adm.neg Este artículo tiene por objeto principal realizar una revisión del enfoque cooperativista que han tomado algunas compañías hispanoamericanas exitosas, aspecto que les ha permitido aumentar su competitividad, posicionarse en los mercados y que podría constituirse en modelo potencial para muchas mipymes, permitiendo el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de las personas que de estas actividades dependen. Para tal efecto, se presenta un marco teórico enfocado en la economía solidaria y sus características, seguido de la descripción de experiencias exitosas en conglomerados agroindustriales latinoamericanos y de buenas prácticas desde el punto de vista logístico, que podrían potencializar a las asociaciones, dadas las principales vocaciones productivas de sus regiones. La consolidación documental de las experiencias de éxito empresarial bajo el modelo clúster agroindustriales y economía solidaria en Latinoamérica, permitió evidenciar que existen regionalmente diversas iniciativas económico - empresariales de asociatividad y cooperativismo que han logrado posicionarse y ser reconocidas con mucho mayor éxito, que empresas con enfoques no cooperativos, siendo el sector productivo, específicamente agroindustria, donde hay mayor concentración de empresas bajo el régimen solidario, seguido del sector servicios. Las empresas solidarias, llámense asociaciones o cooperativas deben su éxito principalmente a la generación por parte de los gobiernos, de políticas públicas que promueven su creación y sostenibilidad.

El más grande reto que la humanidad debe enfrentar en las próximas décadas es el uso racional de los recursos naturales, y al mismo tiempo producir un volumen suficiente de alimento de calidad para satisfacer las demandas de una población humana creciente. La necesidad de producir alimentos de calidad e inocuos, demanda del sector agropecuario implementar de acciones para incrementar la producción agrícola y pecuaria (SALAZAR, 2015). La producción pecuaria tiene un gran impacto en recursos naturales como el agua, la tierra y la biodiversidad, contribuyendo significativamente en el cambio climático, de forma directa o indirectamente, a través del pastoreo o de la producción de cultivos forrajeros. La producción pecuaria ocupa aproximadamente el 30 por ciento de la superficie terrestre libre de hielo y en muchas situaciones se constituye en la principal fuente de contaminación terrestre (STEINFELD et al., 2009).

In a context of climate change, parks have been proven to increase the resilience of vulnerable cities as they help regulate the microclimate, mitigating the heat island effect. Under a generic premise, it could be infered that the municipalities with the highest income from population with high socioeconomic strata and high income to these government agencies through taxes favor the existence of good indicators of quality and quantity of parks. In the framework of this research, it is shown that there is no direct relationship between areas of high socioeconomic strata and high quantity and good quality of parks as public spaces. To this end, 8 parks of the district and its distribution have been evaluated, integrating the results of this evaluation with the socioeconomic levels of the district. Among the main results show that the inhabitants of Surco have a good perception of the parks of their district and that many of these spaces are used by inhabitants of the surrounding districts. There is great care of green areas, although they show deficiencies in terms of infrastructure and equipment. However, the district of Surco, despite being one of the districts with the largest number of green areas in Lima, does not meet the number of square meters per inhabitant for WHO or HABITAT. Finally, the results of quality and quantity of the selected parks and the weighting of the 131 parks as public spaces showed that both the sectors with lower and higher income present these spaces with low quality standards are below 8 m2 / inhabitants established by WHO.

A agricultura familiar é importante para o Brasil e o Pronaf é um dos aliados dessa agricultura. Assim, o objetivo deste artigo é verificar os seguintes aspectos do referido Programa na ótica de agricultores familiares: 1- a percepção; 2-o grau de conhecimento; 3- grau de uso e 4- recomendação. Para isso foram entrevistados 30 moradores do Projeto de Assentamento Porto Esperança, situado no município de Confresa – MT. O resultado das perguntas a respeito do Pronaf mostra que: 43,3% dos entrevistados declarou ter pouco conhecimento; 40% pouca frequência de uso; 70% elevada dificuldade de acessá-lo; 33% acreditam que o Pronaf teria elevada contribuição no desenvolvimento das atividades em sua propriedade e 70% deles afirmaram que não teriam nenhuma dificuldade em arcar com o pagamento das mesmas. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que apesar de sua importância, essa política ainda possui falhas, que devem ser revistas e corrigidas.

La región sur del Ecuador posee una gran biodiversidad y zonas de conservación nacional e internacional. El objetivo de este trabajo fue evidenciar la importancia económica de los servicios ecosistémicos que brinda el humedal La Tembladera (HLT), ubicado en la provincia de El Oro. Se realizó una investigación bibliográfica abordando la Convención de Ramsar, la Evaluación de los Ecosistemas del Milenio (EM) y del Ministerio del Ambiente. Las Partes Contratantes de Ramsar promueven la conservación y uso racional de los servicios de ecosistemas de humedales (de abastecimiento, de regulación y cultural); según la EM, los servicios ecosistémicos representan gran importancia económica, donde, la valoración económica se ha convertido en un instrumento para adoptar políticas de conservación y desarrollo sostenible. El HLT proporciona los servicios descritos en Ramsar y EM, abastece de agua a la agricultura y ganadería, proporciona alimentos (pesca), regula el clima y almacena carbono, y las comunidades han recibido ayuda nacional e internacional para impulsar el turismo (servicio cultural). Por lo tanto, el HLT proporciona servicios desde la seguridad alimentaria hasta la mitigación del cambio climático que son de gran importancia económica. Con una valoración integral del humedal se podrían poner los temas de conservación y manejo en las agendas de quienes toman decisiones.

El maní (Arachis hypogaea L.) es una oleaginosa originaria de Sudamérica la cual presenta una alta diversidad en la región. Se usa en la agricultura, alimentación, ganadería, industria farmacéutica. La semilla contiene antioxidantes, grasas, proteínas, carbohidratos, fibras crudas, vitaminas y minerales. Importante para la alimentación humana y nutrición de los países en vías de desarrollo. Se produce aproximadamente 42.63 millones de toneladas por año a nivel mundial y es la cuarta fuente más importante del mundo para la producción de aceite vegetal comestible. Los principales productores y exportadores del mundo son la India, Estados Unidos y en Sudamérica Argentina, Brasil y Bolivia que ocupa el puesto 20 entre 125 países. En Bolivia entre 2006 y 2019, las exportaciones de maní acumularon más de “95 millones de dólares”. Sin embargo, existe una limitante como las aflatoxinas durante el proceso de producción. Es importante conocer su potencial nutritivo y económico para la seguridad alimentaria y las economías productoras.

El objetivo de este trabajo fue describir la importancia y los principales retos del uso, manejo y conservación del género Vanilla en Costa Rica. Los temas tratados fueron: taxonomía en el país y a nivel mundial, datos sobre recolección y nuevas estimaciones de parientes silvestres, la importancia económica, ecológica y social, el acervo genético de las especies costarricenses, la situación del cultivo a nivel mundial (área cosechada, producción, rendimiento, principales países productores), causas que disminuyen el potencial productivo de las especies, los métodos de cultivo, la posibilidad de extinción de Vanilla planifolia y el potencial genético existente en el país respecto a la concentración de vainillina. Se expone una estrategia integral de conservación que pretende perpetuar los recursos fitogenéticos de vainilla en bancos de germoplasma a través de un sistema formal de producción de semillas, para su utilización ulterior con fines de mejoramiento, investigación y producción comercial. Además, mediante un uso sustentable se protegerán las especies y variedades costarricenses. Las personas, físicas o jurídicas, que utilicen dicho material deberán generar a los proveedores beneficios monetarios, o no monetarios, por el uso de los recursos a través de un sistema justo y equitativo. Las condiciones agroecológicas de Costa Rica así como el material genético de vainilla tanto silvestre como cultivado abren la posibilidad de desarrollar modelos productivos basados en la agricultura orgánica.
