<text>The global pandemic due to COVID-19 presents an unprecedented challenge to mankind including healthcare providers. Many COVID-19 infected patients may present with gastrointestinal symptoms. Endoscopic services may be required in complicated COVID-19 infected or suspected patients. In addition, resource allocation would demand judicious use of endoscopy services. There is a definite risk of transmission of COVID-19 during endoscopy to healthcare professionals. We recommend that only emergency and life-saving endoscopic procedures should be performed during COVID-19 pandemic, and semi-elective procedures should be performed after careful consideration. All routine endoscopy procedures should be deferred till normal hospital services resume. For emergency endoscopy procedures, prescreening of patients is critical to avoid nosocomial transmission. To prevent cross-infection among healthcare professionals, strict infection control measures should be practiced in endoscopy suite while providing essential endoscopic services to the patients.</text>

<text>astures are anthropogenic ecosystems that offer low-cost food resources mainly for feeding ruminants, being the base for production and livelihoods in many rural areas worldwide. Pasturebased production is important for the social, environmental and economic implications where sustainability plays a prominent role because it meets both the needs of present and future generations. The aims of this review article were the following : to show the progress and application of the sustainability concept focused on pastures, and to relate indicators for the measu-rement of pasture sustainability in the tropics. This article describes the sustainability, the indicators for sustainability, the pastures in the humid tropics of the Amazon region, the sustainability applied to pastures, and finally, provides indicators and metrics to evaluate sustaina-bility in pastures. In conclusion, a sustainable pasture must provide benefits to the soil, the plants, and the animals, as well as provide livelihoods to the family that manages the system through appropriate management practices that allow the resilience of the pasture system and the conservation or improvement of natural resources for present and future generations.</text>

A B S T R A C T The technologies geospatialization of coexistence with aridity at maroon communities of the State of Paraíba was used to construct the Technological Prioritization Index. Locations were defined on basis of the households surveyed, as the only source of reference for knowledge of socioeconomic and ecological activities. Technological geospatialization by the community was carried out by crossing data and spatial information in its internal territorial clippings in Geographic Information System. The results indicated the importance of the environmental matrix indicators, in the perception of socio-economic and ecological vulnerability of maroon communities, which highlights the urgent need to prioritize productive technologies during the implementation of local public policies. Their research shows that communities located in census tracts in the rural zone, are more vulnerable than those of city or town of urbanized area. Regardless of the situation, the census tract communities with good indicators of household water supply, soil and climate without major restrictions on production systems are less vulnerable, though, not exempt from technological prioritization, since the indicator poverty is highly significant. In the 38 communities studied identified the need for public policies for local sustainable development that promote water and food security by encouraging family farming, reducing dependency on social programs.

The aim of this work was to make an analysis of natural resources at Ayres de Souza Irrigated District sited in Acaraú basin, Ceará, Brazil. This study was performed through an agro ecological sustainability index (ASI). The approach was based on 33 cross-over form applied to small farms located in the irrigated district. Factors Analysis/Principal Components Analysis were applied to select the sustainability indicators of the irrigated district as well as to define the agro ecological sustainability index. The results showed that the Index is capable of demonstrating clear differences among productivity unit management system with respect to sustainability. 60% of the pooled productivity units presented weak sustainability and the other 39.4% were unsustainable. The dominants factors of the Index were: level of agricultural management practices, family agriculture, framework of irrigation and alternative income source.</text>
