Possibly, and due to poor eating habits and unhealthy lifestyle, many viruses are transmitted to human people. Such is the case, of the novel coronavirus SARS-Cov-2, which has expanded of exponential way, practically, to whole world population. For this reason, the enhancement of real microscopic images of this coronavirus is of great importance. Of this way, one can highlight the S-spikes and visualizing those areas that show a high density, which are related to active zones of viral germination and major spread of the virus. The SARS-Cov-2 images were captured from nasopharyngeal samples of Cuban symptomatic individuals (RT-PCR positives for SARS-CoV-2) and processed via scanning electron microscopy. However, many times these microscopic images present some blurring problems, and the S-spikes do not look well defined. Therefore, the aim of this work is to propose new computational methods to carry out enhancement and segmentation of SARS-Cov-2 high-resolution microscopic images. The proposed strategy obtained very satisfactory results, and we validated its performance, together with specialist physicians, on a set of 1005 images. Due to the importance of the obtained results, this first work will be addressed to the application of the proposed algorithm. A second paper will deeply analyze the theory related to these algorithms.

Porello, y en función de las características del contaminante, sedebe elegir la técnica cromatográfica que posibilite una mejorseparación del contaminante de los interferentes presentes enla matriz, así como de los contaminantes entre sí. Esta metodologíaproporciona datos de gran valor que mejoran nuestroconocimiento de la Salud Pública a través de la Seguridad Alimentaria.

La caza supone en el conjunto del estado español una actividad que junto a su importancia económica juega un factor destacado en la actuación, modificación y conservación de espacios naturales. El cazador se convierte en agente activo que a través de una práctica secular influye sobre los acotados y en la biodiversidad existente en ellos, adaptándola a sus necesidades. Este hecho parte de un concepto y una percepción medioambiental particular. Dentro de esta dinámica, atendiendo a los discursos emic, el cazador se arroga la auto-definición de ';verdadero ecologista'; en virtud a los trabajos que realiza en pro de la fauna cinegética y su hábitat. A ello se une la confrontación a ese ';otro'; ecologismo de asociaciones y colectivos ecologistas a los que consideran alejados de la ';realidad'; natural. El texto incide en la hipótesis de considerar que tanto la percepción como la actuación vienen determinadas por un concepto de rentabilidad, que el cazador y las empresas del sector activan según el caso en virtud de rentabilizar económica y/o recreativamente la inversión realizada. La figura del cazador como ';verdadero ecologista'; quedaría inmersa en una dialéctica entre un ';discurso atávico'; y un condicionante económico.

We report here the occurrence of seasonal changes in the pigmentation of colonies of Siderastrea spp. during bleaching events on coastal reefs in northeastern Brazil. Bleached affected almost 50% of coral colonies analyzed in Cabo Branco reefs (Paraiba state) in the summer of 2005. The same phenomenon was detected along various coastal reefs in northeastern Brazil during the summer of 2007 and 2008. These events were seasonal, and began with the emergence of pale colonies that became pale-pink and then purple during the rainy months. The patterns and intensity of colonies pigmentation changes varied with the studied sites. The decrease in zooxanthellae density and chlorophyll-a content was quantified in the colonies with their pigmentation pattern altered (bleaching). Microbiological analyses revealed higher densities of bacteria in pink colonies (bleached) as compared to brown colonies (normal). Environmental disturbances may lead to the pigmentation changes in Siderastrea spp., but the immediate causes of this phenomenon are not clear and require further investigations.

La calidad de la leche se ve afectada por la mastitis y por las prácticas empleadas durante y después del ordeño. El propósito de este estudio fue evaluar las prácticas de ordeño y la calidad higiénica y nutricional de la leche producida en Granada, Antioquia. Mediante muestreo no probabilístico, se seleccionaron diez fincas productoras, pertenecientes a ASOGRAN. La evaluación de las prácticas de ordeño fue realizada mediante observación directa y, la detección de mastitis, se hizo en cada finca, utilizando la Prueba California (CMT). Al finalizar el ordeño, se tomaron dos muestras de leche, con un intervalo de 60 días, efectuándose análisis de unidades formadoras de colonia (UFC), conteo células somáticas (CCS), porcentajes de proteína, grasa y sólidos totales; durante este intervalo, se capacitaron los productores en buenas prácticas de ordeño (BPO). Los análisis estadísticos, se realizaron mediante la prueba Wilcoxon. Antes de la capacitación, se registró incumplimiento en las actividades de las BPO; se hallaron diferencias significativas para las pruebas de mastitis y de UFC antes y después de la capacitación; además, el 24% de las glándulas mamarias, se percibían afectadas por mastitis subclínica. En la calidad higiénica de la leche, se encontró UFC promedio de 6x10(5) y 3x10(5), respectivamente. El CCS no presentó diferencias significativas, reportando valores promedio de 630.000 y 750.000, respectivamente. La calidad nutricional reportó porcentajes de grasa, proteína y sólidos totales, superiores a los exigidos en la legislación colombiana. Los hallazgos indican la importancia de la aplicación de las BPO sobre la calidad de la leche.

Conspiracy theories integrate, connect and catalogue together what are clearly independent and unrelated events in order to demonstrate correlation and construct impossible, fabricated tales of causation (Bessi, et al., 2015). In a narrative sense, these extremely sophisticated stories are often very intriguing, and their diffusion comes about due to a legitimate desire to enrich the non-scientific literature available. In other cases, despite the cultural maturity of the Western world, conspiracy theories are promoted as real news, able to upset public opinion and to involve a part of the population in Pindaric flights. Moreover, in many cases the creators of these illogical conspiracies are held as suffragists of so-called ‘free thought’, departing from mainstream theories and opening up the mind of the population to new and elevated levels of comprehension of reality (Melley, 2000) and at the moment, the spread of Covid-19 produces a greater awareness of the societal role of the individual.

O trabalho foi realizado na comunidade rural Olho D'Água Velho, município de Mossoró-RN, através do Instituto de Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural do Rio Grande do Norte - EMATER-RN. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar um diagnóstico rural com 23 agricultores familiares beneficiados pela Chamada Pública SAF/ATER nº 010/2012, aplicando técnicas de metodologias participativas a fim de identificar os principais problemas/necessidades e potencialidades produtivas, sociais, econômicas e ambientais da comunidade. Para tanto, foram realizadas oficinas, visitas técnicas e aplicação de diagnósticos rurais participativos nas Unidades de Produção Familiar - UPFs, identificando-se, dentre outros aspectos, as principais culturas trabalhadas, área de produção vegetal, espécies animais mais explorados e quantificando-se os rebanhos bovino, caprinovino, suíno e aves caipiras. Através do estágio, obteve-se um panorama da realidade do local, dando subsídio à construção do planejamento para a melhoria da condição socioeconômica das famílias trabalhadas. Pode-se, também, observar a importância do trabalho da assistência técnica especializada para o crescimento produtivo e desenvolvimento social da agricultura familiar.

The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been extremely stressful and has produced fear and anxiety throughout the population, representing a psychological emergency. This work aimed at presenting a mental health first aid service established within an Italian university public hospital context to address four different population targets (i.e., people vulnerable to mental health problems, health-care professionals, people in isolation, and general citizenship). Specifically, the organizational structure comprising four different areas (i.e., management, clinical, communication, and research) and first data collected from the foundation of the service until 3 May 2020 are presented. Findings indicated that anxiety and fear of contagion were the main motivations prompting both the general population and health-care professionals to ask for a psychological help. Furthermore, findings indicate that clients’ current quality of life was perceived as lower than in the past but also that imagined in the future, highlighting the importance of psychological first aid interventions. This service may represent an example for helping mental health professionals in developing similar services in their local realities, promoting health and individual and community resilience.
