Se aplicaron dos técnicas de investigación: observación sistematizada para medir los componentes ambiental y conductual, y encuesta para medir el componente psicológico. Los resultados son clasificados en tres tipos de incongruencias, las cuales provocan que no se alcance la resiliencia en los sistemas agrícolas. Por ello, la propuesta de intervención socioambiental sería lograr la correspondencia entre las necesidades ambientales que presenta el sistema agrícola y los conocimientos, las actitudes y los comportamientos cotidianos del agricultor respecto a sus prácticas de conservación de suelo.</text>

                <text>Introduction: Since the first case of SARS-CoV-2 was confirmed, the pandemic has experienced an almost uncontrollable increase in the number of cases.  The scientific production plays a key role in the fight against the necessary control and eradication of the pandemic.  From the very beginning, thousands of articles per day are produced at international level; furthermore, editorials and databases have made a great effort to give due priority and visibility to these contributions.  Cuba has made significant efforts in this respect.Objective: To characterize the scientific production on COVID-19 in Cuban medical journals during the first ninety days after the start of the pandemic in Cuba.Material and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study aimed at analyzing 100% of the scientific medical journals was conducted.  Variables such as documental typology, institutional and collaborative affiliations, subject matter, country and time of publication, among others were identified.Results:  In total, 58 % of the articles were published in medical journals and 31,1 % was a contribution by Medisur Journal, University of Medical Sciences in Cienfuegos.  In addition, 77,8 % of the articles were written by Cuban health researchers, 22,6 % of the articles were Letters to the Editor and 20,8 % were original articles.Conclusions: Over the period studied, the national scientific production in Cuban medical journals is low taking into account that the Letters to the Editor are not actual research articles.  Some subject areas in Medical Sciences such as Family Medicine, which could have contributed with their experiences in research work within the community, have not produced any scientific article during this period of time.</text>

Nos propusimos revisar en diferentes bases de datos los planteamientos más recientes sobre los efectos de diferentes contaminantes ambientales que amenazan la salud y el desarrollo futuro de los niños.The relationship between human beings and the environment has changed from ancient times to the present, being more critical since the second half of the 20th century. Children are the most vulnerable group due to their anatomic and physiological immaturity and psychosocial dependence. Air and water pollution, chemical emissions, ozone depletion and the consequences of climate change are the main problems related to it. Pediatricians should be duly informed about it because children have special sensitivity, vulnerability and, in some cases, timely recovery capability in the face of the action by different environmental toxics. We intended to review in a number of databases the most recent statements on the effects of various environmental pollutants that threaten health and future development of children.</text>

                <text>As características físicas e hidráulicas do solo se constituem em condicionantes a planos de manejo agrícola. Objetivou-se avaliar atributos físicos em solos de um vale aluvial e sua variabilidade, no semiárido do Estado de Pernambuco, na bacia hidrográfica do Rio Ipanema. Técnicas estatísticas e geoestatísticas foram utilizadas a fim de se investigar o grau de dependência e a variabilidade espacial dos atributos, em lotes de agricultura familiar. O coeficiente de variação apresentou-se alto para a condutividade hidráulica do solo e médio para a resistência à penetração de raízes e para as frações granulométricas areia, argila e silte. Tal coeficiente foi baixo para a densidade do solo e de partículas e porosidade total. Foram investigadas as estruturas de dependência espacial para as variáveis estudadas, encontrando-se alcances variando de 135 m para a condutividade hidráulica a 465 m para o conteúdo de silte. Mapa de isolinhas foi elaborado por krigagem representando a variabilidade espacial da condutividade hidráulica, com moderado grau de dependência espacial. As frações granulométricas areia total e silte (%) também apresentaram grau de dependência espacial moderado. A resistência à penetração, densidade do solo e de partículas, não apresentaram dependência espacial na escala de investigação adotada. Foi possível identificar regiões de maior aptidão agrícola verificando-se, através do mapeamento, que os solos francos tendem a apresentar elevada resistência à penetração e baixa condutividade hidráulica.Soil physical and hydraulic characteristics are relevant for agricultural management, particularly at irrigation districts. The objective of this study was to evaluate the spatial variability of physical attributes of soil in an alluvial valley in the semiarid region of Pernambuco State, at the Ipanema River Watershed. Statistical techniques and geostatistics were applied to observe the degree of dependence and the spatial variability of soil physical properties, in plots adopted for communal agriculture. The coefficient of variation for the hydraulic conductivity was high, medium for soil resistance to root penetration and for sand, clay and silt. For bulk density, particle density and porosity, however, such coefficient was low. Spatial dependence structures were investigated, with ranges spanning from 135 m, for soil hydraulic conductivity, to 465 m, for silt content. Contour map was produced by kriging interpolation, representing the spatial variability of hydraulic conductivity, which showed moderate spatial dependence. Resistance to root penetration, soil density and particle distribution presented spatial random behavior, for the adopted spatial scale. It was possible to identify regions with higher agricultural potential. From the produced map, it was highlighted that loam soils usually present higher resistance to root penetration, and low hydraulic conductivity.</text>

                <text>As restrições no uso e na disponibilidade das águas subterrâneas nos aluviões do semiárido nordestino estão diretamente ligadas à sazonalidade e à variabilidade espacial de seus níveis potenciométricos e salinidade. A estabilidade temporal é de grande interesse, por facilitar o monitoramento, possibilitando se obter locais representativos acerca da área em estudo, constituindo-se em uma importante ferramenta para a gestão dos recursos hídricos subterrâneos. Com isto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar áreas com estabilidade temporal do nível potenciométrico e da salinidade, em aquífero aluvial do Agreste Pernambucano. Foram utilizados o método das diferenças relativas e a validação por correlação entre a média no tempo do piezômetro estável e a média dos demais piezômetros. Quanto ao nível potenciométrico identificaram-se áreas estáveis que representam o comportamento médio enquanto para a salinidade as áreas estáveis não representam adequadamente a média do vale aluvial devido, possivelmente, às restrições de circulação hídrica e ao uso agrícola do solo.The restrictions in the use and availability of groundwater in alluvial aquifers of the northeastern semiarid are directly related to seasonal and spatial variability of piezometric levels and salinity. Temporal stability is of high interest for monitoring, allowing representative locations about the studied area to be identified, being an important tool for groundwater resources management. Thus, the objective of this work was to identify areas with temporal stability for the water table level and salinity in an alluvial aquifer in the 'Agreste' region of Pernambuco State in Brazil. The relative difference method was used and also the validation by correlation between the mean response of one stable piezometer against the mean of all other piezometers, performed in time. For the water table level, stable areas representing the mean behavior were identified, while the stable areas for salinity did not represented well the mean behavior, perhaps due to flow restriction, and also due to agricultural soil use.</text>

En este ensayo voy a explorar un aspecto del consecuencialismo que no debería ser ignorado completamente por las teorías rivales de la ética normativa, a saber, la extensión del ámbito de los individuos afectados por nuestras acciones presentes, y la importancia de tener en cuenta a los mismos. Incluso aquellas teorías rivales que descuentan algunos intereses necesitan una clara comprensión de la naturaleza de los intereses que están dispuestos a desechar. 2. Los intereses afectados incluyen los intereses futuros de personas actuales y de fetos humanos, además de aquellos relativos a criaturas actuales no humanas, y también los de personas futuras y otras criaturas que no pueden ser reconocidos todavía. Las acciones humanas jugarán un importante rol a la hora de determinar no sólo qué humanos existirán, sino incluso qué no-humanos; podemos incluso influir considerablemente en la calidad de vida de todos ellos, y asumir así responsabilidades en relación a los impactos previsibles resultantes de nuestras acciones. 3. En la medida que establezcamos diferencias comparativas y constatables respecto a la calidad de vida de la gente, conviene advertir que no somos menos responsables de los individuos del futuro que del presente. Es más, si aceptamos que los costes previsibles (de nuestras acciones) para dentro de un millón de años importan tanto como los costes del mismo tipo en el presente, entonces la escala de nuestras responsabilidades actuales se hace más vasta. 4. Donald Brown ha mostrado cómo hay un fuerte debate entre los diversos intereses humanos a la hora de establecer cuáles han de ser las concentraciones de gas invernadero en la atmósfera; dicho debate ha sido reanima' do aún más por consideraciones biocéntricas y/o ecocéntricas. Pace Brown, una aproximación biocéntrica puede contra' pesar intereses humanos (tales como los que afectan al desarrollo) con intereses no humanos, y no tendría por qué prohibir todas las extinciones de especies; pero de hecho esta aproximación no podría justificar de ningún modo el incremento de las concentraciones de gases invernadero. Las emisiones requeridas para el desarrollo del Tercer Mundo necesitan ser contrapesadas con la reducción de emisiones en los países desarrollados. El consecuencialismo biocéntrico genera así políticas defendibles. También, como Brown subraya, los países desarrollados tienen obligación de apoyar un estricto acuerdo internacional sobre el cambio climático, con cuotas nacionales basadas en habilitaciones (entitlements) a una igual cantidad de emisiones per capita para todo planeta.</text>

                <text>    Los cultivos de cobertura de especies leguminosas son sembradas para el control de malezas, prevención de la erosión del suelo y aporte de nitrógeno al suelo. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la respuesta de las leguminosas de cobertura Mucuna pruriens cv. cinza, Mucuna pruriens cv. preta, Crotalaria spectabilis, Vigna radiata y Pueraria phaseoloides a la fertilización fosfórica, en dos épocas del año. El experimento se realizó en un invernadero en la Estación Experimental Agrícola Fabio Baudrit Moreno (EEAFBM) de la Universidad de Costa Rica, en Alajuela, Costa Rica, en el periodo de noviembre del 2012 a enero del 2013, y se repitió de abril a mayo del 2013. Se aplicaron dosis de 0, 30, 60 y 90 kg P2O5/ha en suelo esterilizado con vapor y posteriormente, utilizado para llenar potes de 2 kg de capacidad. Se evaluó altura de planta, número de hojas verdaderas y peso seco luego de 18-26 días de la siembra, según la especie de leguminosa. Tuvieron un mayor crecimiento C. spectabilis Ruth, V. radiata (L) Wilczek y P. phaseoloides (Roxb), cuando fueron fertilizadas con 60 kg P2O5/ha, mientras que, los dos cultivares de M. pruriens no incrementaron su crecimiento con la fertilización fosfórica. El fósforo a la siembra de las leguminosas de semilla pequeña aceleró su crecimiento, lo que indica la importancia de validar el empleo de este fertilizante para la obtención de una rápida cobertura del suelo, lo cual podría disminuir la competencia con las malezas.</text>

                <text>Introduction: As of April 5, 2020, the World Health Organization reported over one million confirmed cases and more than 62,000 confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths affecting 204 countries/regions. The lack of COVID-19 testing capacity threatens the ability of both the United States (US) and low middle income countries (LMIC) to respond to this growing threat, The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness through participant self-assessment of a rapid response team (RRT) mobile laboratory curriculum Methods: We conducted a pre and post survey for the purpose of a process improvement assessment in Angola, involving 32 individuals. The survey was performed before and after a 14-day training workshop held in Luanda, Angola, in December 2019. A paired t-test was used to identify any significant change on six 7-point Likert scale questions with α&lt; 0.05 (95% confidence interval). Results: All six of the questions – 1) “I feel confident managing a real laboratory sample test for Ebola or other highly contagious sample;” 2) “I feel safe working in the lab environment during a real scenario;” 3) “I feel as if I can appropriately manage a potentially highly contagious laboratory sample;” 4)“I feel that I can interpret a positive or negative sample during a suspected contagious outbreak;” 5) “I understand basic Biobubble/mobile laboratory concepts and procedures;” and 6) “I understand polymerase chain reaction (PCR) principles” – showed statistical significant change pre and post training. Additionally, the final two questions – “I can more effectively perform my role/position because of the training I received during this course;” and “This training was valuable” – received high scores on the Likert scale. Conclusion: This Angolan RRT mobile laboratory training curriculum provides the nation of Angola with the confidence to rapidly respond and test at the national level a highly infectious contagion in the region and perform on-scene diagnostics. This mobile RRT laboratory provides a mobile and rapid diagnostic resource when epidemic/pandemic resource allocation may need to be prioritized based on confirmed disease prevalence.</text>

                <text>This reflective essay describes steps taken by Business faculty in a U.S. Midwestern mid-sized regional university to assist faculty in making the rapid transition to 100% online teaching. These steps include the development of an online course template within the university’s course management system made available to all faculty with tips and video tutorials specifically tailored to business courses. The coronavirus pandemic forced faculty members at institutions across the world into teaching online in about two weeks. Many tenure-track professors and full-time instructors, who were required to complete extensive training prior to teaching online courses, were relatively well-prepared. In spite of this training, some instructors felt overwhelmed when the pandemic forced an immediate transition online. Adjunct instructors and some junior faculty were particularly affected. Consistent with the conservation of resources theory which suggests that individuals conserve their limited resources (e.g., time, money, etc.) to ensure availability when they are most needed, many instructors, particularly adjunct and junior faculty, were constrained by competing demands. Adjunct instructors often teach limited courses while maintaining full-time employment in their respective fields. Junior faculty also have limited resources due to service and publishing demands. The availability of a special online course helped these vulnerable faculty members make the rapid transition to emergency online teaching. This reflective essay also describes the results of a survey about this transition among both faculty and center for teaching and learning (CTL) staff. Lastly, we recommend strategies for CTLs and academic departments to prepare for future crises. “Deputizing” power-users in each academic unit to redistribute workloads during emergencies and sharing tips and tricks customized for their departments is one such strategy. Creating annual online training modules is another strategy to allow seamless transition to unexpected online teaching.</text>
