A study was conducted to examine 792 fecal samples collected from calves among 65 dairy and beef herds distributed in two of Brazil's major livestock producing regions, aiming to detect the occurrence of rotavirus and perform a molecular characterization of the rotavirus according to G and P genotypes in these regions. Especially in rural areas, water with appropriate quality, available at the right time is required to meet basic needs and to improve the productivity of land and labor. The Water Poverty Index (WPI) is able to assess whether individuals possess this natural resource in satisfactory quantity and quality, for both household and community use. This work focuses on the application of WPI in João Batista Soares Agrarian Reform Settlement, Carapebus, Brazil. The settlement has environmental problems such as degraded soil, lack of vegetation, and it is considered environmentally vulnerable. Through the application of the WPI, we conclude that the settlement also has water shortage, as the index result was 42.5%, a rate which reflects water insecurity. The water shortage of the settlers affects their production, earning income and quality of life. We believe that access to the settler’s rights to funding and grant can alleviate water shortage and minimize the environmental vulnerability faced by these individuals. The transition from face-to-face to virtuality has affected the entire educational process favoring one of the open innovation key features in the higher education institutions: the ability to manage knowledge flow. Open innovation in this crisis situation will encourage universities to deal with difficulties and embrace opportunities to enhance knowledge production. In this regard, the main objective of this work is to analyze how universities have managed knowledge flow during lockdown situation. The research presents a comparative study between three countries highly impacted by the coronavirus (Spain, Italy and Ecuador) based on perceptions from teachers and students on a convenience sample of 573 individuals. The study, of a descriptive and exploratory nature, applied surveys between March and April 2020 to students and teachers of Journalism, Communication. The survey had 2956 responses, collecting 65,032 pieces of evidence from students and 6468 from teachers. Teachers and students show their preference for being present, but they recognize the justification for the change of scenery and identify positive elements in virtuality. According to the findings obtained, the absence of presence has not generated an increase in the meetings between teachers and students. In addition, the tutorials have been shorter and sporadic. Added to this is a scant commitment to the variety of resources and options offered by the Internet. The predominance of textual material collides with the demand from students for a mixture of training resources, a greater role for the podcast and, especially, a typology of assessment tests that pass the traditional exams. Esse beneficiamento gera resíduos que, se não coletados e tratados adequadamente, podem causar danos ao meio ambiente. Na região do nordeste do Pará há vários empreendimentos agroalimentares, que beneficiam a mandioca. Assim, objetivou-se realizar um estudo sobre o processamento da mandioca nos empreendimentos agroalimentares do nordeste do Pará e de percepção em torno das iniciativas do processo de aproveitamento de seus resíduos. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de visitas de campo, entrevistas com os agricultores, e alguns registros fotográficos. Foi aplicado um questionário constituído de perguntas abertas e fechadas, e a escolha dos entrevistados aconteceu por meio da técnica denominada snowball sampling (bola de neve). Após a coleta de dados, foi realizada uma avaliação quantitativa, possibilitando detectar que os empreendimentos beneficiadores de mandioca estudados da região nordeste do Pará não tratam adequadamente seus resíduos e o mais preocupante é o descarte da manipueira (efluente), por ser considerada uma solução tóxica, pela presença da linamarina, glicosídeo, característicos da planta da mandioca, potencialmente hidrolisável a ácido cianídrico. Mesmo sendo um material orgânico, devido ao acondicionamento inadequado, podem causar danos ao meio ambiente e a saúde pública.
