                <text>The process of modernization in agriculture seeks the productive efficiency and higher levels of profitability, which can be influenced by the correct choice of pricing of products that will be offered to the interested public. In this context, information and communication technologies have been gaining prominence, and it has been a facilitator to provide information and knowledge for this segment of society. Recognizing the importance of price data for the rural producer, this work aims to identify sites that provide sources of agricultural crop data, and to explain the information linked to these sources. The methodology of this work was based on exploratory research with a qualitative approach. A search was performed on the Google engine, by means of terms descriptors in the Portuguese language to identify sites that provide crop pricing. It was identified twenty-one sites with data from different cultures, presenting price data, region, and date of update. It is concluded that access to this data can contribute to the lack of information in this sector, providing better planning in the sales phase of products and increasing the bargaining power, also minimizing the informational asymmetry between small and large farms.</text>

Objetivou-se nessa pesquisa compreender a percepção ambiental de agricultores familiares do município de São Domingos/BA e sua influência nas intervenções agrícolas por eles desenvolvidas, bem como a inserção de técnicas agroecológicas trazidas pelo Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais da Agricultura Familiar de São Domingos (SINTRAF-SD) nas propriedades agrícolas onde há a presença da agricultura familiar. A pesquisa está pautada nos seguintes procedimentos metodológicos: I) Revisão de Literatura sobre os principais temas abordados no estudo; II) Coleta de dados sobre a organização estrutural dos projetos executados pelo SINTRAF-SD para os agricultores familiares; III) Entrevista Estruturada junto ao presidente do SINTRAF-SD; IV) Entrevista Estruturada com 10 representantes de 10 grupos familiares os quais se classificam enquanto agricultores familiares. A percepção ambiental dos agricultores familiares vem passando por uma mudança de paradigma consistente, tendo em vista que as antigas práticas exercidas por eles ou pelos seus antecedentes não são consideradas práticas sustentáveis sob o ponto de vista ambiental que, por sua vez, os levaram a uma gradativa mudança nos modos de perceber o sistema ambiental e como suas ações estavam degradando a natureza em geral. PERCEPTION ENVIRONMENTAL FAMILY FARMERS AND THE USE OF NATURAL RESOURCES OF SÃO DOMINGOS CITY - SEMIARID BAIANO  ABSTRACT The perception of the environment in which it produces is fundamental to understanding the development of agricultural practices such as the use of natural resources tend to follow the logic of the perception of the object which has immediate contact. The objective was to this research to understand the environmental awareness of farmers in the municipality of São Domingos / BA and its influence on agricultural interventions they developed, as well as the inclusion of agroecological techniques brought by the Union of Rural Workers of Family Agriculture of São Domingos (SINTRAF -SD) on farms where there is the presence of family farming. The research is guided in the following methodological procedures: I) Review of Literature on the main issues addressed in the study; II) Data collection on the structural organization of the projects executed by SINTRAF-SD for family farmers; III) Structured Interview with President of SINTRAF-SD; IV) Structured Interview with 10 representatives from 10 family groups which are classified as family farmers. Environmental awareness of farmers has undergone a change of consistent paradigm, given that the old practices exercised by them or by their background sustainable practices are not considered from an environmental point of view that, in turn, led to a gradual change in the ways of perceiving the environmental system and how their actions were degrading nature in general. El objetivo era esta investigación para comprender la conciencia medioambiental de los agricultores en el municipio de Santo Domingos / BA y su influencia en las intervenciones agrícolas que desarrollaron, así como la inclusión de técnicas agroecológicas interpuesto por la Unión de Trabajadores del Campo de la Agricultura Familiar de Santo Domingo (SINTRAF del SD) en la propriedad donde existe la presencia de la agricultura familiar. La conciencia ambiental de los agricultores ha sufrido un cambio de paradigma coherente, dado que las viejas prácticas ejercidas por ellos o por sus prácticas sostenibles por su vez no se consideran desde el punto de vista del medio ambiente que, a su vez, dio lugar a una cambio gradual en las formas de percibir el sistema ambiental y de cómo sus acciones fueron degradando la naturaleza en general.                 <text>O artigo discute a importância do microcrédito como mecanismo de inclusão financeira e fomentador do desenvolvimento dos agricultores familiares da cadeia de valor do açaí, analisando o programa Amazônia Florescer do Banco da Amazônia. O acesso ao crédito justo é parte dos direitos fundamentais, devendo a dignidade humana ser observada pela atividade econômica, e cabendo ao Estado promovê-lo em todas as suas dimensões, conforme ensina Amartya Sen (2010). Metodologicamente, a pesquisa ora apresentada usa a abordagem qualitativa, trazendo também dados quantitativos sobre o financiamento e a produção do açaí, fruto de elevada importância cultural, social e econômica na Amazônia. Dentre os resultados, destaca-se que, apesar das perspectivas promissoras do produto no mercado nacional e internacional e dos investimentos do Programa nessa atividade terem crescido significativamente, o agricultor familiar tem capturado uma parcela muito baixa da renda gerada. Para que a economia do açaí inclua os agricultores familiares dos ganhos da atividade é preciso superar a seletividade do crédito e remover os obstáculos para alcançá-lo, tendo o Amazônia Florescer um importante papel nesse processo.</text>

The experiment was set up with 12 treatments, in a split-plot design and four completely randomized blocks. The soil and leaf applications were installed in the plot. In the split-plot, cow urine was applied at different concentrations (0.00; 0.25; 0.50; 0.75; 1.00 and 1.25 %). The plot presented four rows with 1.75 m each, in 0.25 x 0.25 m spacing. The six central plants of the two central rows formed the sampled split-plot. At harvest, the following variables were evaluated: fresh (FLM) and dry (DLM) leaf mass, fresh (FSM) and dry (DSM) stem mass, stem length (SL), fresh (FRM) and dry (DRM) root mass, fresh (FHM) and dry (DHM) head mass and commercial yield (CY). The increase in cow urine concentrations increased the performance of all lettuce characteristics, except DRM, which presented reduction, and DSM and FRM, which were not affected. The highest yield was obtained with the concentration of 1.25% (17.00 t ha-1) applied to leaves and with 1.01% (14.92 t ha-1), applied to soil, corresponding, respectively to increases of 28.1% and 47.3%, in comparison to the control. Application to leaves, in comparison to application to soil, resulted in greater FLM (0.50 and 1.25%), SL (0.50; 0.75 and 1.25%), FSM and FRM (0.5%), FHM and CY (0.50 and 1.25%), but lower DSM and FRM (1.25%) and DRM (1.0 and 1.25%). The application of cow urine solution at 1.25% to leaves or 1.0% to soil is recommended for lettuce crops.A utilização da urina de vaca pode ser considerada uma prática de custo baixo para os produtores rurais. Todavia, a sua eficiência sobre as culturas carece de informações da pesquisa. Assim, objetivou-se avaliar o efeito da urina de vaca sobre o crescimento e produção da alface em experimento conduzido de 13 de janeiro de 2006 a 22 de março de 2006, com a cv. Regina 2000. O experimento foi constituído de 12 tratamentos, em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições. Nas parcelas foram alocadas as aplicações das soluções de urina (solo e foliar) e, nas subparcelas, as concentrações (0,00; 0,25; 0,50; 0,75; 1,00 e 1,25%). A subparcela foi constituída por quatro fileiras de 1,75 m, espaçamento de 0,25 x 0,25 m e consideraram-se, como úteis, as seis plantas centrais das duas fileiras centrais. Na colheita foram avaliados a massa da matéria fresca (MFF) e seca de folhas (MSF); massa da matéria fresca (MFC) e seca de caule (MSC); comprimento de caule (CC); massa da matéria fresca (MFR) e seca de raízes (MSR); massa da matéria fresca (MFCA) e seca da cabeça (MSCA) e produtividade comercial (PROD). Exceto a MSR, que diminuiu e MSC e MFR que não foram alteradas na aplicação via foliar, as demais características avaliadas apresentaram incremento às concentrações aplicadas. Maior produtividade de cabeça foi obtida com concentrações de 1,25% (17,0 t ha-1) aplicada via foliar e de 1,01% (14,9 t ha-1) aplicada via solo correspondendo, respectivamente, a aumentos em produtividade de 28,1% e de 47,3%, comparados à testemunha. A aplicação foliar, comparada via solo, proporcionou maior MFF (0,50 e 1,25%), CC (0,50; 0,75 e 1,25%), MFC e MFR (0,5%), MFCA e PROD (0,50 e 1,25%) e menores MSC e MFR (1,25%) e MSR (1,0 e 1,25%).                 <text>In the past two decades an evident dichotomy has been established between policies of a productive nature and those aimed at social assistance for family farms in Brazil. The purpose of this article is to analyze this duality in the main public policies for family farming, and presents a quantitative overview of the results. From a methodological perspective the analysis was based on the number of farmers who benefit from the agrarian reform policies, rural credit, institutional food markets, rural social security and income transfer. The main results of this study indicate that the economic support for the productive activities of Brazilian family farming have been concentrated among the intermediary and well-established farms that are inserted in markets. In parallel, most family farmers are relegated to social assistance programs and not integrated to the working agendas of the main professional organizations in agriculture.</text>

                <text>Holm oak (Quercus ilex) is the most important and representative species of the Mediterranean forest and of the Spanish agrosilvo-pastoral “dehesa” ecosystem. Despite its environmental and economic interest, Holm oak is an orphan species whose biology is very little known, especially at the molecular level. In order to increase the knowledge on the chemical composition and metabolism of this tree species, the employment of a holistic and multi-omics approach, in the Systems Biology direction would be necessary. However, for orphan and recalcitrant plant species, specific analytical and bioinformatics tools have to be developed in order to obtain adequate quality and data-density before to coping with the study of its biology. By using a plant sample consisting of a pool generated by mixing equal amounts of homogenized tissue from acorn embryo, leaves, and roots, protocols for transcriptome (NGS-Illumina), proteome (shotgun LC-MS/MS), and metabolome (GC-MS) studies have been optimized. These analyses resulted in the identification of around 62629 transcripts, 2380 protein species, and 62 metabolites. Data are compared with those reported for model plant species, whose genome has been sequenced and is well annotated, including Arabidopsis, japonica rice, poplar, and eucalyptus. RNA and protein sequencing favored each other, increasing the number and confidence of the proteins identified and correcting erroneous RNA sequences. The integration of the large amount of data reported using bioinformatics tools allows the Holm oak metabolic network to be partially reconstructed: from the 127 metabolic pathways reported in KEGG pathway database, 123 metabolic pathways can be visualized when using the described methodology. They included: carbohydrate and energy metabolism, amino acid metabolism, lipid metabolism, nucleotide metabolism, and biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. The TCA cycle was the pathway most represented with 5 out of 10 metabolites, 6 out of 8 protein enzymes, and 8 out of 8 enzyme transcripts. On the other hand, gaps, missed pathways, included metabolism of terpenoids and polyketides and lipid metabolism. The multi-omics resource generated in this work will set the basis for ongoing and future studies, bringing the Holm oak closer to model species, to obtain a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying phenotypes of interest (productive, tolerant to environmental cues, nutraceutical value) and to select elite genotypes to be used in restoration and reforestation programs, especially in a future climate change scenario.</text>

                <text>Existen varios estudios sobre la Agricultura Familiar Campesina (AFC) del Paraguay que enfocan diversos temas: su caracterización tipológica, su competitividad, las limitantes para su desarrollo, entre otros. No se ha identificado en la literatura especializada estudios que traten sobre la rentabilidad de la misma desde un punto de vista económico y financiero. En esta publicación se reporta los resultados de un estudio exploratorio, de manera a crear una base de conocimientos que puedan servir de insumos para desarrollar hipótesis y su posterior contrastación. Se hicieron seis estudios de casos abarcando los Departamentos de San Pedro, Concepción y Amambay, entre mayo y julio del 2013. Los resultados muestran que la tierra es el principal componente (50 – 91%) del capital agrario, seguido en orden de importancia por las inversiones agrícolas pasivas, el capital operativo y el capital de operación fijo vivo. La importancia de las inversiones agrícolas pasivas se debió más bien al valor de los electrodomésticos y motocicleta, antes que a los tradicionales componentes tales como construcciones, alambradas, y aguadas. Se observó un escaso involucramiento de parte de los hijos en las fincas visitadas. La mano de obra disponible, con una excepción, fue la de los padres, cuyas edades variaron entre 50 y 62 para el varón y 41 y 55 para la mujer. En una sola finca los hijos aportaban jornales completos a la finca. En general, las fincas no se proyectan como unidad productiva por la falta de involucramiento de los hijos, lo cual a la vez explica la falta de inversión en maquinarias y equipos principalmente.</text>

                <text>Two containers (4 and 8 L plastic pots) and three growing media mixture types (0/100, 25/75 and 50/50 % of peat/perlite) were used, with the aim of determining the optimum combination for gerbera cut flower crop, considering both commercial productivity (yield and quality of cut flowers) and environmental impact, (water and fertilizer use efficiency). The best combination in the first year of production was 8 L and 0/100, followed of 4 and 8 L with the 25/75, with a yield of 53.4, 30.5 and 29.7 flowers m-2 respectively. The yield of the rest of the treatments were similar, around 20 flowers m-2. Commercial cut flower quality was aceptable in all treatments. Considering the efficiency measured as the ratio water used per flower harvested, 8L 0/100 was clearly superior with a value of 1.23 L/flower, the rest of the treatments were between 2.17 y 4.14 L/flower, keeping relation as much with container size like with growing media mixture. The importance of these results is the simultaneous consideration of many factors which affect both comercial profitability and development of sustainable technology for intensive crops.</text>

                <text>La adaptabilidad del cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) en condiciones adversas permite sugerir que la microbiota asociada con la rizosfera desempeña una función importante para la nutrición y el desarrollo de la planta. En el trabajo se evaluó el potencial biofertilizante de bacterias fijadoras de nitrógeno (diazótrofas) aisladas de suelos cacaoteros por la técnica de diluciones seriadas. Las bacterias se aislaron en medios semiselectivos (NFb, JMV, LGI, JNFb). Los aislados puros se caracterizaron morfológica y bioquímicamente y complementariamente se evaluó la capacidad de fijación biológica de nitrógeno (FBN) por el método de Micro-Kjeldahl. Los aislados con mejor capacidad de fijación de nitrógeno fueron seleccionados para evaluar su potencial promotor de crecimiento durante 120 días en plantas de cacao clon CCN 51 establecidas a partir de semillas. El análisis de datos mostró que las plantas de cacao respondieron efectivamente a los tratamientos con bacterias donde las variables de crecimiento y N (%) foliar incrementaron significativamente, en comparación con el testigo. Se destacó el aporte de los aislados DKA2J24, DKB3J73 presuntamente del género Burkholderia sp. y DKA1L3 semejante al género Gluconacetobacter sp., todos con un gran potencial como biofertilizantes en la prueba de bioensayo.</text>
