                <text>Objetivo: Evaluar el impacto de dos programas focalizados de asistencia alimentaria (Oportunidades y Programa Apoyo Alimentario PAL). Ello, en la experiencia de inseguridad alimentaria en hogares mexicanos con menores de edad. Metodología:  Se analizó la información de la Encuesta Nacional de Ingresos y Gastos de los Hogares 2014; fueron seleccionados los hogares en pobreza en los que existían menores de edad. La inseguridad alimentaria en el hogar se evaluó con la Escala Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Seguridad Alimentaria (ELCSA) y mediante la diversidad de la dieta.Resultados:  Los hogares pobres mostraron mayor probabilidad de menor variedad en la dieta y presentar algún grado de IA, así como de recibir algún tipo de ayuda gubernamental. Entre los hogares pobres, el recibir ingresos por programas de asistencia alimentaria no se relacionó con la inseguridad alimentaria, ni con la diversidad de la dieta. En cambio, la inseguridad alimentaria fue más frecuente en los hogares con jefe de familia soltero o indígena. La variedad en la dieta fue menor en hogares de localidades rurales y cuando el jefe de familia tenía baja escolaridad.Limitaciones:  La naturaleza transversal del estudio no permite establecer relaciones causales.Conclusiones:  La experiencia de inseguridad alimentaria en los hogares no varía en función de la participación de programas de asistencia alimentaria, lo cual cuestiona la existencia de políticas focalizadas para el combate a la pobreza y plantea la necesidad de dirigir los esfuerzos a aumentar el acceso a empleos remunerativos para las clases en desventaja social y económica.</text>

                <text>In December 2019, the outbreak of pneumonia caused by a novel coronavirus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has led to a serious pandemic in China and other countries worldwide. So far, more than 460,000 confirmed cases were diagnosed in nearly 190 countries, causing globally over 20,000 deaths. Currently, the epidemic is still spreading and there is no effective means to prevent the infection. Vaccines are proved to be the most effective and economical means to prevent and control infectious diseases. Several countries, companies, and institutions announced their programs and progress on vaccine development against the virus. While most of the vaccines are under design and preparation, there are some that have entered efficacy evaluation in animals and initial clinical trials. This review mainly focused on the progress and our prospects on field of vaccine development against SARS-CoV-2.</text>

                <text>Abstract Background Following the SARS outbreak, the World Health Organization revised the International Health Regulations to include risk communication as one of the core capacity areas. In 2006, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Global Disease Detection [GDD] program began collaborating with China to enhance China’s risk communication capacity to address gaps in the SARS communication response. This article describes tangible improvements in China’s public health emergency risk communication capacity between the SARS and H7N9 outbreaks; documents U.S. CDC GDD cooperative technical assistance during 2006–2017; and shares lessons learnt to benefit other countries and contribute to enhance global health security. Method A questionnaire based on the WHO Joint External Evaluation tool [Risk Communication section] was developed. A key communications official from the China National Health Commission [NHC] completed the questionnaire retrospectively to reflect China’s capacity to manage communication response before, during and after the outbreaks of SARS in 2003, influenza H1N1 in 2009, and influenza H7N9 in 2013. A literature search was also conducted in English and Chinese to further substantiate the results of the questionnaire completed by NHC. Results China demonstrated significantly improved risk communication capacities of pre-event, during event and post event responses to H7N9 when compared to the SARS response. China NHC improved its response through preparedness, availability of dedicated staff and resources for risk communication, internal clearance mechanisms, standard operating procedures with national response parties external to NHC, rumor management, communication with international agencies and consistent messaging with healthcare and private sectors. Correspondingly, the perceived level of trust that the public had in the NHC following outbreaks rose between the SARS and H7N9 response. Conclusion Risk communication capacities in China have increased during the ten years between the SARS outbreak of 2003 and the H7N9 outbreak of 2013. Long-term risk communication capacity building efforts in bilateral collaborations are uncommon. The U.S. CDC GDD project was one of the first such collaborations worldwide. The lessons learned from this project may benefit lower and middle-income countries as they build their national emergency risk communication capacity.</text>

As lavouras, que são vizinhas, encontravam-se sob condições similares de clima, solo e relevo e eram formadas por cafeeiros cv. Acaiá MG-474-19, de dez anos. A doença foi mais intensa no sistema de produção convencional, cuja média de dois anos consecutivos de avaliações demonstrou área abaixo da curva de progresso da cercosporiose maior (3,905) do que o orgânico (2,529). Isso ficou demonstrado também pela incidência máxima nas folhas, equivalente a 28% em 2004 e 29% em 2005, enquanto no sistema orgânico foi de 9% e 12%, respectivamente. Nos frutos, a incidência foi de 18,2% em 2004 e 22% em 2005, enquanto no orgânico foi de 11,5% e 15%, respectivamente. A maior suscetibilidade dos cafeeiros à cercosporiose no sistema convencional coincidiu com menores teores de cálcio e magnésio foliares nas fases de granação e maturação dos frutos comparados ao orgânico, conseqüência da maior carga pendente que resultou em uma produtividade superior em 26,8 sc/ha ao orgânico em 2004 (alta carga pendente). Em 2005 a produtividade foi estatisticamente semelhante em ambos os sistemas. Houve menor alternância entre a produtividade das duas safras consecutivas no sistema orgânico (34% menor em 2005) quando comparada à convencional (64% menor) sugerindo uma tendência de menor efeito da doença sobre a safra seguinte dos cafeeiros no sistema orgânico de produção, comparado ao convencional.The progress of brown eye spot in coffee trees in both organic and conventional crop systems was evaluated in two neighboring fields, in Santo Antônio do Amparo city, MG, between nov./2003 and nov./2005. The fields are under similar weather, soil and relief conditions and made up of ten-year-old coffee trees cv. Acaiá MG-474-19. The incidence of brown eye spot was significantly higher in conventional system, whose average from two years demonstrated the area under the disease progress curve (3.905) higher than organic system (2.529). That was also demonstrated by the higher incidence on leaves (maximum 28% in 2004 and 29% in 2005) on conventional than on organic system (9% and 12%, respectively). The incidence on fruits was 18.2% in 2004 and 22% in 2005, while on organic system it was 11.5% and 15%, respectively. This higher susceptibility to disease on coffee trees in conventional system coincided with lower foliar content of calcium and magnesium for the fruit filling and fruit ripening stages compared with to the organic system. That was a consequence of higher production of the conventional system that resulted in yield 47.8% higher than organic one in 2004 (high number of berries). In 2005, the yield was similar in both crop systems but it was verified that the conventional production in 2005 was 64% lower than in 2004 whereas in the organic system from the difference in yield was 34%. This suggested for a tendency of lower effect of the disease in the following coffee harvest of the organic system compared to the conventional one.</text>

Na safra seguinte, somente os híbridos interpopulacionais dos ciclos 0 e 2 foram avaliados nas mesmas condições, com 40 repetições por local. O híbrido interpopulacional apresentou desempenho equivalente ao do melhor híbrido parental simples em poucos ciclos seletivos. As estimativas do progresso genético por ciclo foram de 7,9% (ou 0,7 Mg ha-1) para produtividade de espigas despalhadas e de 3,5% para prolificidade. É possível inferir que a seleção recorrente recíproca é eficiente em elevar a produção de híbridos interpopulacionais obtidos a partir de populações F2 de híbridos simples de milho.The objective of this work was to evaluate the genetic progress obtained in interpopulation hybrids with the reciprocal recurrent selection. During the 2005/2006 planting season, maize (Zea mays) interpopulation crosses from three selection cycles (0, 1 and 2) initiated in 2003, single-cross parental hybrids and the double-cross F1 hybrid were evaluated in randomized blocks with five replicates, at two locations. In the next planting season, only interpopulational hybrids from cycles 0 and 2 were evaluated under the same conditions, with 40 replicates per location. The interpopulation hybrid had a yield performance equivalent to that of the best single-cross parent in few selection cycles. The estimates of genetic progress per cycle were of 7.9% (or 0.7 Mg ha-1) for unhusked ear yield and of 3.5% for prolificacy. It is possible to infer that the reciprocal recurrent selection effectively improves the yield of interpopulational hybrids obtained from F2 generations of single-cross maize hybrids.</text>

                <text>E-learning is conceived as a purely virtual training approach. Different learning styles have been proliferated in recent years, especially now, due to the impact of COVID-19 in the educational field. The aim of this study is to discover the evolution of e-learning in higher education (ELHI) in scientific literature indexed on the Web of Science. Co-word analysis and bibliometric analysis was performed. A total matrix of 1261 documents was analyzed through SciMAT software. The results revealed that studies on ELHI are written in English and presented by conference papers. The main source of publication for the conferences is EDULEARN proceedings, while the journal source is Procedia-Social and Behavioral Sciences. Spain is the country with the highest volume of production. It is concluded that research on ELHI use does not have an established line of research, due to its recent creation and the lack of related research. The bibliometric analysis specifies that the research is oriented towards knowing the level of acceptance and application of the pedagogical method in the teaching and learning processes.</text>

                <text>A agricultura familiar é responsável por uma parcela importante da produção agrícola brasileira, entretanto possui dificuldades na aquisição de máquinas adequadas para suas necessidades. Em entrevistas com agricultores familiares do Rio Grande do Sul, foi detectada a necessidade de uma máquina capaz de conformar canteiros e depositar fertilizante orgânico. O objetivo do trabalho foi projetar a concepção de um sistema mecanizado capaz de conformar canteiros e depositar fertilizante orgânico com necessidade de potência de acionamento inferior a 25kW. Foi utilizada a metodologia de projeto do Modelo de Fases, que é dividida em quatro fases, compostas por diversas tarefas. Como resultado da aplicação da metodologia obteve-se quatro concepções, após aplicação da matriz de decisão das concepções, foi determinada uma concepção para o processo de otimização, obtendo-se posteriormente aquela considerada ideal para atender as necessidades dos agricultores.                 <text>O Brasil é o maior produtor de açúcar e álcool do mundo, consequentemente, é também um grande produtor de vinhaça, o que é um problema, já que possui elevado potencial de poluição, impactando gravemente o solo e a água, apesar de ser usada na fertirrigação do canavial. Ao ser tratada em anaerobiose, contudo, pode produzir energia e ser usada como biofertilizante para o solo. Esse tratamento pode ser executado por um Reator Anaeróbio de Fluxo Ascendente (RAFA), considerado eficiente pela literatura. A partir disso, esse artigo tenta reunir equações e coletar dados, revisando a literatura científica com o objetivo de projetar um RAFA para tratamento de vinhaça, expondo uma alternativa de disposição final adequada a esse subproduto. Os resultados mostram boas oportunidades, com um grande potencial de redução de DBO e DQO e produção de biogás, eletricidade e biofertilizante, além de fornecer um compilado de equações e dados importantes para futuros cálculos.</text>
