Un total de 175 muestras de suelos fueron recolectadas en la zona noroeste de Santa Fe y sur de Santiago del Estero durante el período 2001-2009. Se realizaron análisis fisicoquímicos (pH, Nitrógeno Total, Nitrógeno Nítrico, Nitrato, Fósforo, Potasio, Azufre y Materia Orgánica) con el objetivo de categorizar las mismas en función a su calidad y aptitud para uso agrícola-ganadero. El perfil de los suelos analizados destaca deficiencias en Nitrógeno (NT = 0,127 ± 0,032%, N-NO3-= 13 ± 10,349 mg kg-1 y NO3- = 56 ± 45,830 mg kg-1) y un potencial de hidrógeno levemente ácido (pH = 6,4 ± 0,623), observándose una marcada tendencia a aumentar la acidificación en los últimos años. La fertilización equilibrada adquiere importancia estratégica a la hora de obtener óptimos rendimientos en los suelos de la zona, y la incorporación de prácticas de manejo conservadoras tales como labranza reducida, aumento de materia orgánica y rotación de cultivos son fundamentales para el desarrollo sostenible de la región.In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in evaluating soil quality and health. The resource soil is a fundamental component of the biosphere, participating in the production of food, fibers and energy and consequently impacting on the environmental quality. The indiscriminate expansion of agriculture added to the inadequate management in many areas has led to the deterioration of soil structure and to the consequent reduction in organic matter levels, affecting the soil chemical and physical fertility. A total of 175 soil samples were collected in the northwestern area of Santa Fe and in the southern part of Santiago del Estero provinces during the 2001-2009 period. Physicochemical analyses were carried out (pH, Total Nitrogen, Nitrate- Nitrogen, Nitrate, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sulfur and Organic Matter) with the objective of categorizing the soil samples according to fertility and aptitude for agricultural-cattle use. In general, soil samples were deficient in Nitrogen (TN = 0.127 ± 0.032%, N-NO3- = 13 ± 10.349 mg kg-1 and NO3- = 56 ± 45.830 mg kg-1) and had a lightly acidic hydrogen potential (pH = 6.4 ± 0.623), showing a greater acidification trend in recent years. A balanced fertilization program is of strategic importance when seeking optimum yields in these areas. The adoption of conservative management practices such as minimum tillage and crop rotation are fundamental for sustainable agricultural development in the region.

Contexto: El suelo es un recurso importante y constituye la base para la explotación agropecuaria y forestal. Sus propiedades químicas tienen relación con la disponibilidad de nutrientes. Sin un estudio adecuado de los indicadores de la naturaleza química de los suelos, es difícil comprender la fertilidad de estos.Objetivo: Evaluar el comportamiento de algunas propiedades químicas del suelo en cuatro fincas de la agricultura suburbana de Santiago de Cuba.Métodos: Se realizaron calicatas para tomar muestras en cada uno de los horizontes del suelo. Identificadas las muestras, fueron trasladas a los Laboratorios de la Empresa Geominera Oriente. Se determinó el contenido de calcio (Ca2+), magnesio (Mg2+), aluminio (Al3+), sodio (Na+) y potasio (K+), relaciones catiónicas, el pH, Capacidad de Intercambio Catiónico Efectiva (CICe), el Porciento de Saturación por Bases (V), Saturación respecto a la CICe y Materia Orgánica (M.O).Resultados: El contenido de Ca2+, Na+ y K+tuvo un comportamiento variable mientras que el Al3+ y el Mg2+ se comportaron de manera similar, superando en todos los casos los límites de permisibilidad en el suelo. El pH fue la propiedad que menos variación mostró, encontrándose por encima de 7, el valor V en todos los casos fue superior al 85 % y la CICe se encontró por encima de 50 cmol.Kg-1. La relación Ca2+/Mg2+ mostró un balance desfavorable, la saturación por Na+ fue elevada y el contenido de M.O de manera general fue bajo.Conclusiones: Las propiedades químicas de los suelos en las fincas estudiadas son un factor limitante para el desarrollo de procesos productivos. A pesar de tener una fertilidad potencial y buen contenido de nutrientes, la relación entre los diferentes elementos hace que estos permanezcan retenidos en el suelo en formas que no pueden ser asimilados por los cultivos.

El manejo agrícola del suelo en zonas de laderas del trópico húmedo de México, determina los procesos erosivos e influye en las propiedades químicas y biológicas. En el presente estudio se evaluó el impacto del sistema de milpa intercalada con árboles frutales (MIAF) sobre las propiedades químicas y biológicas, en comparación con los sistemas de manejo agrícola tradicional y de labranza de conservación. Se muestrearon los suelos de las partes donadoras y receptoras del MIAF, de la milpa tradicional y de labranza de conservación para medir; N, P, K, CO2, MO, índice de Shannon y AWCD en suelos de Axochío, San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz. Los resultados indican que el sistema MIAF mejoró la actividad metabólica de grupos funcionales de microorganismos en la zona de recepción y filtro de sedimentos; en comparación con la zona media y donadora de sedimentos del MIAF y con los sistemas de agricultura tradicional y labranza de conservación. Además, en la zona del filtro, se observó un pH más cercano a la neutralidad, mayor contenido de MO, N inorgánico, N total, P total, P extractable y K.

Apart from the effects of treating those infected with COVID-19, the pandemic has also affected treatment for other diseases, which has been either interrupted or canceled. The aim of this paper is to provide a financial model for obtaining the cost overrun resulting from the worsening of illnesses and deaths for each of the causes considered. To achieve this, first deaths have been classified into causes of death and for each of these causes, an estimation has been made of the worsening condition of patients due to delay in treatment. Through these data, a fuzzy relation between deaths and the worsening condition of patients can be obtained. Next, the expertise process has been used to estimate cost overrun in relation to patients’ pathologies. The experts’ opinions have been aggregated using ordered weighted average (OWA). Lastly, using fuzzy logic again, a correction coefficient has been determined, which optimizes the future implementation of the proposed model without the need for a new estimation of inputs. The paper concludes with a numerical example for a better comprehension of the proposed theoretical model. Ultimately, it provides the scientific community in general and in particular managers of public administration entities with a novel tool for improving the efficiency of the healthcare system.

This work seeks to structure a proposal for an application to the small producer that assist in the association of crops in agroforestry systems. To use the app you will need a smartphone or tablet that can function without dependence on the internet because it will have a database with the necessary characteristics for an efficient association. For this, it was made an exploratory search that assisted in the bibliographical conceptualization of agroforestry systems and in identifying the characteristics of the relevant cultures in an association. To illustrate the operation of the application was chosen as the main culture and rubber trees, papaya, beans, peanuts, rice and bananas as the joined cultures. When using the application introduces the following information: type of culture, climate, and Earth. By crossing the characteristics related to the nutrients, water and plant family cycle raises the name of plants that can be joined and the spacing that should be on the plantation.

This article presents the proposal designed for the development and transfer of a Farm Management Information System (FMIS) in its web version, to a pilot group of producers of the fruit and vegetable sector in Colombia. The FMIS integration process is documented based on the identification of four components: actors, motivations, modalities and stages that facilitated it. The results obtained show two particular achievements. The first related to the transformations generated in the operational management of agricultural productive units in what corresponds to the planning, programming, execution and control of tasks. The second corresponds to the usability and functionality achieved in the FMIS, product of the early involvement of users with experience in agricultural activity and basic knowledge in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) since the validation stage of the design made.

Abstract This study was carried out in the Columbe parish of the Colta canton due to this area's availability of water and favorable climatic conditions for trout farming. Data were collected through a survey consisting of 20 closed questions, of which 5 were considered due to their relevance in the research work. The objective was to determine the acceptance of trout consumption for the possible implementation of a production and commercialization company, and to determine how much could be charged per kilogram. The results showed that 47.24% of the those surveyed consume trout biweekly, 61% consider its taste very pleasant, 39% consume trout for its nutritional properties, 61% would like the product to be delivered directly to their home, and the same percentage are willing to pay 6-7.50 dollars per kilogram of trout. The results demonstrated the feasibility of the proposal for the implementation and management of a trout production and marketing company on site.

Both sexes of the enigmatic laophontid species Pseudonychocamptus carthyi Hamond, 1968 (Copepoda, Harpacticoida) are redescribed in detail based on type and other material from Norfolk, England. The species exhibits marked differences with other Pseudonychocamptus species and is consequently fixed as the type of a new genus Marbefia, gen. n., being defined by the following autapomorphies: (1) P2–P4 enp-2 (except P4 enp-2 in ♂) inflated, with two parallel rows of flimsy setular extensions; (2) P4 with sexually dimorphic setation on enp-2 (outer distal seta reduced in ♀, very long in ♂); and (3) antennule ♀ with spinules along posterior margins of segments 1–6. Laophonte danversae Hamond, 1969, “Laophontid male, ?gen., ?sp.” sensu Hamond (1969) [renamed as Inermiphonte hamondi, sp. n.] and Laophonte ?drachi Médioni & Soyer, 1966 are collectively placed in a new genus Inermiphonte, gen. n. which shares as sistergroup relationship with Harrietella T. Scott, 1906. Marbefia, gen. n. is considered sister to a clade comprising the genera Pseudonychocamptus Lang, 1944, Pilifera Noodt, 1952, Inermiphonte, gen. n. and Harrietella. Pseudonychocamptus kolarovi Apostolov, 2008 is transferred to Paralaophonte whereas Chislenko’s (1967) record of P. koreni Sars, 1908a is considered doubtful. Willey’s (1935) variety “fissirostris” of Paralaophonte brevirostris (Claus, 1863) is rejected pending a thorough analysis of the variability in the P. brevirostris complex of species. P. congenera mediterranea Lang, 1948 appears to be more closely related to P. lacerdai Jakobi, 1953 than to its nominotypical subspecies P. congenera congenera (Sars, 1908b) whereas P. pacifica galapagoensis Mielke, 1981 (here upgraded to full specific rank) is more similar to P. brevirostris than to its nominotypical subspecies P. pacifica pacifica Lang, 1965. A new species, Paralaophonte pallaresae, sp. n. is proposed for P. gracilipes Brady, 1910 sensu Pallares (1968). The potentially paraphyletic status of the genus Paralaophonte is discussed. Dichotomous identification keys are provided for the valid species of Pseudonychocamptus Lang, 1944 and Paralaophonte Lang, 1948.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandemic and rapidly progressing infectious disease that represents a global health care emergency due to severe acute respiratory syndrome. Rapid tests detect antigen or antibody presence, which is useful for patient care and for assisting in disease surveillance and epidemiological research. The complicating aspect of the COVID-19 spread may be due to asymptomatic individuals. Unfortunately, asymptomatic individuals are not detected in the early stages of infection, which could help to prevent community spread. The present paper shares an opinion through the proposal of a research model for detecting COVID-19 among asymptomatic carriers.
