The research arises from the problems faced by cities due to heavy rainfall, and the obsolete drainage infrastructure systems, that lead to the collapse of rainwater evacuation systems. Contributing to the resolution of the problematic, with a proposal based on the collection, reused, and evacuation, through the retarders or other systems inside the property. In this way, the excess of flow that might be find in the runoff will decrease singnificantly, reducing the negative impacts on the city and granting sustainable benefits to this natural resource. We understand that non-conventional retarders are easy to combine with conventional ones, allowing to enhance their results not only at the level of urban storm drainage (possibility of absorbing 100%), but also contributing to ecological consideration (Ex: reduction in heat emission from natural roofs, with return to environments water by evapotranspiration process) and also those of a sustainable type (Ex: water recycling with collection and storage of a reserve tank). The validation is carried out from the intervention of an existing building, this allows to test the feasibility of different systems of rain regulators that is being analyzed.

La nutrición es una prioridad de salud pública en Colombia. A pesar de esto el médico general y el especialista no están formados ni están preparados adecuadamente para afrontar la problemática nutricional de la población: alta prevalencia de desnutrición, sobrepeso, obesidad, inseguridad alimentaria en poblaciones vulnerables como los desplazados, niños y ancianos. A pesar de ser un país con alta tasa de enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles, tampoco están preparados para realizar consejería nutricional para su prevención y tratamiento. Una de las razones para esto, es la falta de definición del papel del médico en el ejercicio de la nutrición clínica. La educación en nutrición puede definirse como la introducción de los principios científicos de la nutrición en la práctica clínica de la medicina. La identificación de un núcleo central de conocimientos propios a la nutrición, el abordaje desde la interdisciplinariedad y el reconocimiento de un médico especialista en nutrición son aspectos claves en el desarrollo de la educación médica en nutrición. Se proponen estrategias claves para el desarrollo de esta disciplina y para fomentar la participación de los médicos en ella

El objetivo principal de este artículo es contribuir al desarrollo del proyecto de investigación: Diseño de un modelo de gestión tecnológica en la cadena productiva del ají en el Valle del Cauca. En este sentido se realizó un análisis sobre los antecedentes y el concepto de la gestión tecnológica, la agroindustria, la cadena productiva y el desarrollo de la misma en el ámbito nacional y departamental. El enfoque que se implementó es descriptivo y analítico, los instrumentos que se utilizaron fueron: entrevistas, relatos y observación participante a los diferentes actores: Secretaría de Agricultura de la Gobernación del Valle del Cauca, Fundación Carvajal, y a la Asociación de Productores y Comercializadores Agrícolas - Agrovac. Como resultado, se observa que la cadena productiva del ají, en el Valle del Cauca, adolece de la aplicación de herramientas tecnológicas que permitan identificar nuevos mercados y analizar la capacidad de la competencia de los productores. El desarrollo de la fase 1: Identificación de la Cadena Productiva del Ají, permite concluir que es necesario implementar la gestión tecnológica en cada uno de los procesos de la cadena, a partir del empoderamiento de los agricultores que participan en la Asociación de Productores y Comercializadores Agrícolas, Agrovac, para que éstos realmente aprovechen las oportunidades de crecimiento y desarrollo.

El presente estudio explora la incursión de grupos criminales dedicados al narcotráfico en las áreas naturales protegidas (ANP) de México, enfocándose en las implicaciones sociales, económicas y ambientales de la presencia de estos grupos dentro de estas áreas para los esfuerzos de conservación, lo cual permite incluir la dimensión ambiental del desarrollo sustentable en el paradigma de la seguridad pública. Metodológicamente, se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a servidores públicos de las ANP a nivel nacional, abordando de manera diacrónica el período de guerra contra el narcotráfico, encontrando que las ANP siempre han figurado, en este escenario, como territorios de siembra y movilización de droga y como terrenos estratégicos de dominio, lo que ubica al medio ambiente y a las personas dentro y cerca de las ANP en situaciones de inseguridad.

Este artículo plantea elementos éticos de reflexión sobre las consecuencias de la aplicación del modelo de ciencia, tecnología e innovación adoptado por Colciencias a partir de la ley 1286 de 2009, en la universidad colombiana. Se encontró desde una epistemología del Sur y los desafíos para la colocación del sujeto, la necesidad de un debate amplio del tema en los diferentes campos del conocimiento acerca del modelo productivo sustentado en la ciencia, la tecnología y la innovación para propiciar el desarrollo productivo y de la industria nacional, dado que la educación impartida en las universidades colombianas no puede considerarse simplemente como una mercancía el componente social y solidario. Se concluye que la universidad colombiana puede incorporar de manera decidida las ecologías de saberes, temporalidades, reconocimientos, transescalas y productividades para promover una comprensión del mundo más amplia que incluya nuevos modos de ser y pensar que lleven a disminuir la brecha entre conocimiento científico y sociedad.

La política pública ambiental en el Valle del Cauca, a partir de 1991, va en contravía de la conservación ambiental al enfatizar en el crecimiento económico, la generación de plusvalía y la ampliación de la tasa de ganancia. Para la realización de esta investigación se adoptó como herramienta metodológica la revisión bibliográfica. Se halló que la política pública ambiental en el Valle se ha orientado a subsidiar monetaria, ecológica, ambiental y socialmente al sector cañicultor. Se concluye que dicha política ha contribuido al desequilibrio ecológico y al deterioro ambiental.

El artículo analiza la evolución de la población activa brasileña ocupada en actividades de autoconsumo entre 2001 y 2006 a partir de las estadísticas de la Encuesta Nacional de Hogares. En efecto, examina tanto la situación de las personas como de las familias urbanas y rurales, encuadradas como de empleadores, que trabajan por cuenta propia y de trabajadores según la condición de ocupación, además de otros grupos de interés (agrícolas en exclusivo, no agrícolas y pluriactivas). El estudio ha constatado un incremento general en la población ocupada en actividades de autoconsumo que, por otra parte, consiste en un tipo de ocupación predominantemente femenina y que en el actual contexto es llevada a cabo en un universo estimado en 6.1 millones de hogares urbanos y rurales de Brasil.
