<text>The present work proposes a procedure to evaluate the economic impact of recycling cellulolytic enzymes in ethanolproduction from sugarcane bagasse process. Three scenarios of ethanol-producing plants of different capacities are set to make the theoretical calculations. The proposed procedure starts from the experimental results reported on the yield changes obtained at the laboratory level when the original enzyme is used and when it is recycled on one or two occasions. From the technological demands of enzymatic quality, some necessary mixtures are established so the levels of addition of original enzyme are evaluated for different levels of recycling of enzymes. The procedure then includes possible scenarios for recycling the enzymes one or several times and it establishes the economic impacts regarding reduction of raw materials. Since the process of recycling enzymes is planned for an industrial installation, economic estimates of the investment are made for a given capacity with and without recycling of enzymes. For the three capacities, the investment and production costs are estimated, as well as the investments required to be able to recycle the enzymes in the enzymatic hydrolysis stage. Recovery of investments is also considered and projected. The economic benefits of recycling enzymes increase as installed production capacity increases.</text>

<text>Since previous evidence has demonstrated that red blood cell distribution width (RDW) may be a useful prognostic parameter in many critical illnesses and infectious diseases, we investigated the utility of RDW for monitoring patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The study population consisted of 49 COVID-19 patients, including 16 (32.6%) with severe illness, 12 (24.5%) with severe acute kidney injury (AKI), and 8 (16.3%) requiring renal replacement therapy (RRT). The predictive value of blood tests, performed during emergency department evaluation, was then addressed. A progressive increase of RDW was observed with advancing COVID-19 severity. The area under the curve (AUC) of RDW was 0.73 for predicting severe illness, 0.80 for severe AKI, and 0.83 for RRT, respectively. In multivariate analysis, elevated RDW was associated with 9-fold and 16-fold increased odds of severe COVID-19 and AKI, respectively. The results of this study suggest that RDW should be part of routine laboratory assessment and monitoring of COVID-19.</text>

This research provides scientific and methodological bases for territorial diagnostics, related to the causal effect of elevated expressways on their immediate surroundings. To achieve this, historical and normative background is used, but also, the open data processing and the use of econometric tools that measure impact. The results identify 11.893 households affected by noise pollution, reduction in buildability, reduction in property value and increase in the probability of larceny or robbery. The city of Buenos Aires is the main centrality of the region in terms of employment, production and services of the country. This condition underpins the usefulness of expressways in terms of economics and mobility; however, it faces challenges of environmental impact and quality of life, which must be prioritized within the framework of climate change and the vulnerability agenda of populations. This document also analyses the evolution of the city model with motorways, their transformations and the future possibilities of these infrastructures in urban environments. Optimizing them, replacing them with tunnels or demolishing them, are the main actions that cities are developing, specifically for the re-qualification of central areas, coastal fronts and neighborhood environments.</text>

O presente trabalho relata a constituição e o funcionamento desta rede no período 2014-2016.
