Quantifying the changes of pollutant emissions due to COVID-19 and associated governmental control measures is crucial to understand its impacts on economy, air pollution, and society. We used the WRF-GC model and the tropospheric NO2 column observations retrieved by the TROPOMI instrument to derive the top-down NOx emission change estimation between the three periods: P1 (January 1st to January 22nd, 2020), P2 (January 23rd, Wuhan lockdown, to February 9th, 2020), and P3 (February 10th, back-to-work day, to March 12th, 2020). We found that NOx emissions in East China averaged during P2 decreased by 50% compared to those averaged during P1. The NOx emissions averaged during P3 increased by 26% compared to those during P2. Most provinces in East China gradually regained some of their NOx emissions after February 10, the official back-to-work day, but NOx emissions in most provinces have not yet to return to their previous levels in early January. NOx emissions in Wuhan, the first epicenter of COVID-19, had no sign of emission recovering by March 12. A few provinces, such as Zhejiang and Shanxi, have recovered fast, with their averaged NOx emissions during P3 almost back to pre-lockdown levels. Competitive growth produces a larger columnar crystal diameter with thickness. The question is if the nano-dimension also increases with columnar crystal size. We report that the nano-dimension increases with the film thickness, ranging from 17–42 nm. The results of this study can be used to design a coating which has co-optimized thickness for durability and nano-dimension for enhanced photocatalytic properties. Conduziu-se de 02/07 a 27/08/1997 um experimento dentro de túnel plástico, pertencente à UNESP, em Botucatu, em vaso plástico, contendo quatro quilos de solo. Os solos foram corrigidos para atingirem saturação por base de 80% e todos os vasos receberam adubação fosfatada (150 mg de P kg-1 de solo), potássica (100 mg de K kg-1 de solo) e micronutrientes. Os compostos foram misturados aos solos nas quantidades de 60; 120 e 240 g de composto por vaso. Os três compostos foram originados a partir de casca de eucalipto, serragem de madeira e palhada de feijão, misturados com esterco de aves. O experimento foi realizado em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em três repetições, com vinte tratamentos em esquema fatorial (3 doses x 3 compostos x 2 solos) mais um tratamento testemunha para cada solo (ausência de composto orgânico). O composto de palhada de feijão aumentou a biomassa fresca da parte aérea e a quantidade de N, K, Ca, Mg, B, Cu, Fe e Zn nas plantas de alface. Para o P e Mn o composto de palhada de feijão diferiu significativamente apenas em relação ao composto de casca de eucalipto. Em todas as características avaliadas no LE houve melhores respostas da cultura em relação ao AQ. Quanto às dosagens utilizadas, as diferenças foram observadas somente nos tratamentos com palhada de feijão, onde as maiores dosagens propiciaram o aumento de biomassa fresca e seca da parte aérea, e nas quantidades de macro e micronutrientes.The effects of three doses of organic composts of three different origins, applied to two soil types, were evaluated on production and absorption of nutrients by lettuce. The experiment was conducted under plastic tunnel, at the Faculdade de Ciências Agronômicas, in Botucatu, Brazil, in plastic vase each with 4 liters of soil. The soils [Oxisol (Dark Red Latosoil) (LE), sandy phase, and an Inceptisol (AQ)] were corrected to reach 80% of base saturation and all the vases received 150 mg.kg-1 of P, 100 mg.kg-1 of K and micronutrients. The composts were mixed to the soils in amounts of 60; 120 and 240 g vase-1. The composts, originated from a mixture of eucalyptus bark, wood sawdust and bean straw, were mixed with chicken manure. The experiment was accomplished following a randomized design, with 18 treatments and 3 replicates (3 doses x 2 soils x 3 composts) plus a control. The bean straw compost increased the fresh weight of the aerial part and the amount of N, K, Ca, Mg, B, Cu, Fe and Zn in the lettuce plants, but differed for P and Mn only in relation to eucalyptus bark compost. In all the characteristics evaluated in the LE the best results were obtained in relation to AQ. Larger doses of bean straw promoted increase in fresh weight of aerial part, and in the amount of N, K, Ca, Mg, S, Fe and Zn.
