Vitamin D has been claimed to be effective in the response to infections, including the respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It is supposed that lockdown measures and fear of SARS-CoV-2 infection might reduce vitamin D levels through the modification of lifestyle. However, very few data exist on the association between lockdown measures and vitamin D status in humans. For this cross-sectional comparative study, adolescents (n = 298) aged 18 to 19 years were enrolled during the compulsory military fitness-for-duty evaluation between July and December 2020 in Southern Switzerland. Beyond anthropometric measurements, participants filled in a structured questionnaire about their lifestyle and a blood specimen was sampled for the determination of total 25-hydroxy-vitamin D. The obtained data were compared with those of 437 adolescents enrolled at the military fitness-for-duty evaluation during the same period of the year in the context of the CENERI study (2014–2016). The anthropometric measures were similar between the two study groups. The levels of vitamin D were also comparable (77 (64–91) vs. 74 (60–92) nmol/L, p = 0.50; median and interquartile range). El objetivo del presente trabajo fue determinar el efecto de la Vitamina C protegida en concentrado de Cavia porcellus 'cuy' con exclusión de forraje sobre los parámetros productivos en etapa de crecimiento - engorde. 120 cuyes machos de genotipo mejorado y destetados (14 días +/- 3 días) fueron distribuidos al azar en 4 tratamientos con 30 repeticiones: T0: Concentrado + forraje + agua, T1: 45 mg de Vitamina C / 100 g de concentrado + agua, T2: 55 mg de Vitamina C / 100 g de concentrado + agua y T3: 66 mg de Vitamina C /100 g de concentrado + agua. Se evaluaron: incremento de peso final (IPF), incremento de peso diario (IPD), conversión alimenticia (CA) y beneficio/costo (B/C). Los datos se analizaron con la prueba de homogeneidad de varianza de Lévenne, ANOVA y prueba de Duncan. Se obtuvieron diferencias significativas (p < 0,05) para IPF entre el tratamiento T1 (632,93 g) respecto a T2, T0 y T3 y para IPD y CA no se observaron diferenciassignificativas (p > 0,05) entre tratamientos. La mejor relación B/C se obtuvo en el T1 (1,48). Se concluye que la Vitamina C a razón de 45 mg / 100 g de concentrado + agua tuvo el mejor efecto sobre el incremento de peso final y la mejor relación beneficio - costo en cuyes, en la etapa de crecimiento – engorde, constituyendo una alternativa viable.

O Centro da Criança e do Adolescente do Hospital CUF Descobertas não foi exceção. Foi necessário adaptar o serviço por forma a dar resposta a situações urgentes garantindo qualidade de cuidados e prevenção do contágio entre doentes e profissionais. Neste artigo os autores descrevem todo o processo de adaptação que obrigou, num curto espaço de tempo, a repensar espaços, circuitos, protocolos e procedimentos, equipamentos de proteção individual, integração de novos elementos na equipa em condições difíceis do ponto de vista de gestão e liderança de equipas. A implementação de um gabinete de crise ágil e empenhado foi fundamental para assegurar liderança forte e assertiva ao longo de toda a evolução.

O estudo objetiva analisar as vivências de lazer de discentes do curso de Educação Física da Universidade Federal do Pará, no contexto da pandemia da COVID-19. A metodologia da pesquisa é descritiva e de abordagem quali-quantitativa. O instrumento foi um questionário produzido e enviado via Google Forms. Participaram da pesquisa 104 discentes. Os dados foram sistematizados no programa Microsoft Excel. Os resultados da pesquisa apontaram que: o envolvimento com as atividades de lazer diminuiu para a maioria dos discentes; os afazeres domésticos e os estudos e cursos online foram as atividades obrigatórias mais realizadas; as interações por meio de redes sociais e assistir séries foram os interesses de lazer mais mencionados; e que, embora um percentual de discente tenha adaptado e/ou criado novas atividades de lazer, em sua maioria isso não foi possível no contexto da pandemia da COVID-19.

El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar la vulnerabilidad, la capacidad de adaptación y el empoderamiento para enfrentar el cambio climático a través de la percepción de los habitantes en dos comunidades periurbanas expuestas a huracanes e inundaciones en La Paz, Baja California Sur, México. Desarrollamos talleres participativos en cada comunidad para obtener la percepción acerca de su exposición a cambios climáticos y la forma en que los han enfrentado. Ambas comunidades tuvieron la percepción de que ha habido un cambio en las condiciones climáticas a lo largo del año, indicando que ambas son conscientes de la variabilidad climática. La gente reconoció su vulnerabilidad a los cambios en el clima y la alta frecuencia de ciclones en la zona. Además, ellos identificaron las transformaciones económicas y las adaptaciones sociales que estos fenómenos han provocado, y reconocieron los impactos en la salud debidos a la proliferación de nuevas enfermedades. Esto nos permitió confirmar como las percepciones de los habitantes son fundamentales, no sólo para detectar la variabilidad climática, sino también para demostrar la importancia del conocimiento local para reducir la vulnerabilidad y mejorar la capacidad de adaptación y empoderamiento. Obtener información local de los impactos del clima para entender las causas sociales de la vulnerabilidad, la adaptación y el empoderamiento es un planeamiento novedoso en el análisis del cambio climático.
