The consumer's profile change, allied to the risk of toxic substances contamination, is inducing the search for ecological alternatives of fruits production. The objectives of this work were to evaluate the anthracnose incidence, the development and nutritional status of mango varieties organically cultivated in Pindorama, SP. Seventeen mango varieties were used. The experiment was designed in completely randomized blocks, with 17 treatments (varieties) and six replications. The anthracnose severity in leaves was evaluated by a diagrammatic scale, with grades attributed to the symptoms. The growth and development (plant height, stem and crown perimeter) and the nutritional state indicated by leaf analysis were used for evaluation of the varietal behavior. The varieties Bourbon, Rocha and Rosa could be considered very susceptible to anthracnose and IAC 111, Alfa, Beta and Parvin were resistant; the mango varieties presented the same growth pattern; the largest plant heights corresponded to the largest diameters of the stem and crown; the Parvin variety presented the best performance among the varieties in relation to the anthracnose resistance, height and diameter of the stem and crown, and could be recommended for organic cultivation. The Omega and Alfa varieties also presented good development and could be indicated for that cultivation, at least in that initial phase; Surpresa and Rosa varieties did not present good field development in relation to the others, and should not be recommended for the organic cultivation, mainly the variety Rosa, which is quite susceptible to anthracnose. The concentrations of N, P and K were higher in the vegetative phase of the plants, when compared to the low concentration of Ca; there was lack of Boron in all the studied varieties; Rosa variety probably suffered toxicity to the excess of manganese, causing decrease in its development.</text>

A B S T R A C T Sustainability evaluations in agriculture provide essential information of systems viability, contributing to the sustainable development. In the conversion of agricultural production systems to sustainability, mixed intercropping has been seen as a management that aims at sustainable agriculture. In the Irrigated Perimeter of the Sousa Floodplains, the dwarf coconut is cultivated in monoculture and in mixed intercropping with the banana trees. In the face of this situation, this study aimed to evaluate the sustainability of the family farms that produce coconut trees in these two forms of management. The agroecosystems studied belonged to sectors 6 and 7 of PIVAS, the field study occurred between the years of 2015 and 2016 through the application of the MESMIS sustainability assessment system. The Overall Sustainability Index of the monoculture was 2.13, of the mixed intercropping was 2.14, indicating that the agroecosystems are in regular sustainability situation. A low pressure drip irrigation gravity feed system may be a viable technique to small farms. So, according with it, eight irrigation systems with 10.4 mm internal diameter driptubing 210 m long, seven 12 mm adapters, 20.6 mm polyethylene pipe 6 m long, polyethylene adapter, 20.6 mm 90º elbow, 20.6 mm PVC pipe 3 m long and 1 m³ water reservoir at 3 m height, were designed and assembled to irrigate 1.296 m² with tomato cultivated in 0.8 x 60 m beds. One 130 mm screen filter was used to four systems and one 200 mm disc filter for the other ones. Emission uniformity coefficients (UE) and distribution uniformity coefficients (UD) were obtained throughout 90 days. UE and UD were excellent and the degree of clogging at the emitters increased with time. Therefore, according to the results, the low pressure drip irrigation systems tested are technically viable to small areas.</text>

</text>
