Estos se distribuyeron en tres tratamientos (control,200y400ppbCr/kg-de-dieta) según un diseño completamente aleatorizado, con 4 repeticiones de 25 pollos cada una. Al finalizar el ciclo productivo se determinó la concentración de cortisol en suero sanguíneo de 15 animales por tratamiento, como indicador de estrés. Cada animal constituyó una unidad experimental. Para el análisis de los resultados, se utilizó el paquete estadístico computarizado INFOSTAT. Resultados. Los valores del índice de confort de temperatura y humedad durante los últimos 32 días de duración de la prueba oscilaron entre 112.53 y 115.26. Las concentraciones promedio de cortisol para los tres tratamientos evaluados fueron de 9.45, 8.91y7.66 nmol/L, respectivamente, sin mostrar diferencias significativas entre ellos. Conclusiones. El producto orgánico de Cr fue efectivo en la reducción del estrés calórico al disminuir la concentración de cortisol, aunque no significativamente, en suero sanguíneo de los pollos de engorda. Se ratificó la existencia de un estrés generado por calor durante la realización del experimento. The release of danger-associated molecular patterns during severe COVID-19 results in both pulmonary epithelial damage and inflammatory disease, which are predisposing risk factors for pulmonary aspergillosis. Moreover, collateral effects of host recognition pathways required for the activation of antiviral immunity may, paradoxically, contribute to a highly permissive inflammatory environment that favors fungal pathogenesis. Diagnosis of CAPA remains challenging, mainly because bronchoalveolar lavage fluid galactomannan testing and culture, which represent the most sensitive diagnostic tests for aspergillosis in the ICU, are hindered by the fact that bronchoscopies are rarely performed in COVID-19 patients due to the risk of disease transmission. Similarly, autopsies are rarely performed, which may result in an underestimation of the prevalence of CAPA. Finally, the treatment of CAPA is complicated by drug–drug interactions associated with broad spectrum azoles, renal tropism and damage caused by SARS-CoV-2, which may challenge the use of liposomal amphotericin B, as well as the emergence of azole-resistance. The seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 and factors associated with symptomatic COVID-19 in patients with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases are still unclear. The Euro-COVIMID study aimed to determine the serological and clinical prevalence of COVID-19 among patients with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, as well as factors associated with COVID-19 occurrence and the impact of the pandemic in its management. In this multicentre cross-sectional study, patients aged 18 years or older with a clinical diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, axial spondyloarthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren's syndrome, or giant cell arteritis were recruited from six tertiary referral centres in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and the UK. Demographics, comorbidities, treatments, and recent disease flares, as well as information on COVID-19 symptoms, were collected through a questionnaire completed by participants. SARS-CoV-2 serology was systematically tested. The main outcome was the serological and clinical prevalence of COVID-19. Factors associated with symptomatic COVID-19 were assessed by multivariable logistic regression, and incidence of recent disease flares, changes in treatments for underlying disease, and the reasons for treatment changes were also assessed. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT04397237. Between June 7 and Dec 8, 2020, 3136 patients with an immune-mediated inflammatory disease answered the questionnaire. 3028 patients (median age 58 years [IQR 46-67]; 2239 [73·9%] women and 789 [26·1%] men) with symptomatic COVID-19, serological data, or both were included in analyses. SARS-CoV-2 antibodies were detected in 166 (5·5% [95% CI 4·7-6·4]) of 3018 patients who had serology tests. Symptomatic COVID-19 occurred in 122 (4·0% [95% CI 3·4-4·8]) of 3028 patients, of whom 24 (19·7%) were admitted to hospital and four (3·3%) died. Factors associated with symptomatic COVID-19 were higher concentrations of C-reactive protein (odds ratio 1·18, 95% CI 1·05-1·33; p=0·0063), and higher numbers of recent disease flares (1·27, 1·02-1·58; p=0·030), whereas use of biological therapy was associated with reduced risk (0·51, 0·32-0·82; p=0·0057). At least one disease flare occurred in 654 (21·6%) of 3028 patients. Over the study period, 519 (20·6%) of 2514 patients had treatment changes, of which 125 (24·1%) were due to the pandemic. This study provides key insights into the epidemiology and risk factors of COVID-19 among patients with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Gastrointestinal manifestations such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are commonly associated with this condition. Biliary complications from COVID-19 constitute an area of active research. In this report, we present a case of secondary sclerosing cholangitis in a critically ill patient (SSC-CIP) associated with COVID-19. A 57-year-old male with a past medical history of hypertension and diabetes presented to the hospital with signs of sepsis. He had abdominal pain, fever, and elevated liver enzymes without an elevated lipase. Abdominal ultrasound and CT scan showed a dilated common bile duct (CBD) with a distal CBD stone. He had experienced a prolonged course of severe critical illness related to COVID-19 prior to this episode, with respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation, thromboembolic complications, and he had also required tracheostomy and gastrostomy tube. The patient was diagnosed with cholangitis and was appropriately treated with antibiotics and fluid resuscitation. An endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) was performed. During ERCP, the biliary cast was removed and a bile duct stent was placed. After the procedure, he showed significant improvement and was discharged on an appropriate course of antibiotics. Outpatient ERCP was eventually done to remove the stent and further bile duct casts were removed. The patient was referred for outpatient cholecystectomy. Critical illness due to COVID-19 can result in SSC-CIP. This can be further complicated by bile duct casts, liver fibrosis, and cirrhosis. La investigación denota que en materia de innovación no existe un desarrollo para este sector, lo que requiere a partir de los resultados se diseñen estrategias y políticas conducentes a elevar las capacidades y cultura innovadoras con la premisa de garantizar una seguridad alimentaria, eficiencia económica y productiva de empresas del sector. English abstract The article exposes the impact of innovation for organizational development with an emphasis on the agri-food sector. A characterization of the science, technology and innovation system in Cuba is presented in which its impact on economic and social development is evaluated. The methodological bases that facilitate the carrying out of the study to measure culture and innovative capacity in companies belonging to the agri-food sector are analyzed, from which the results are analyzed and the main limitations and potentialities are identified. The research shows that in terms of innovation there is no development for this sector, which requires, based on the results, to design strategies and policies conducive to raising innovative capacities and culture with the premise of guaranteeing food security, economic and productive efficiency of companies in the sector.
