Objetivou-se analisar a comercialização de alimentos com valor agregado pela agricultura familiar que acessou o Programa de Aquisição de Alimentos nos estados brasileiros no ano de 2014 e, reflexionar sobre os possíveis fatores associados. No Rio Grande do Sul e Goiás 24% da comercialização tiveram valor agregado, na Bahia 17%, no Amazonas 11% e em São Paulo 3%. Por menor que seja a etapa de agroindustrialização, os agricultores agregaram valor à produção, contudo a comercialização foi baixa. Além das políticas nacionais averiguou-se ações estaduais à agroindustrialização que possivelmente impactaram na comercialização de alimentos com valor agregado.
