<text>The article presents a study of the environmental impact of dusting tailing dumps of rare-metal ore dressing in the Murmansk region of Russia. The purpose of the study was to establish patterns in the atmochemical halo migration of the dust pollution of loparite ore dressing tailings. The geotechnical characteristics and material composition of the tailings material have been investigated. Potentially dusty areas identified. Models of dispersion of inorganic dust under different meteorological scenarios are constructed: at low wind load, normal and unfavorable meteorological conditions. The modeling of the spread of pollutants in the area exposed to dust at the storage site was carried out in the program for modeling atmospheric pollution Ecolog-4.60. Calculation of the dispersion of inorganic dust containing 20–70% SiO2 showed that the atmochemical halo of tailings dust pollution spreads over tens of kilometers, and already at a wind speed of about 8 m/s, the concentration of suspended solids at the border of the enterprise sanitary protection zone exceeds the maximum one-time maximum permissible concentration is 3–3.3 times, and under unfavorable meteorological conditions—Dusting reaches the boundaries of the residential area (inhabited locality Revda), located in the north-west of the enterprise, and exceeds the MPCm.o. 1.5 times.</text>

<text>Introduction: Spearmint (Mentha spicata) is widely used in the pharmaceutical and food industries, thanks to chemical properties largely influenced by genetic and environmental factors, especially soil conditions. Objective: To determine the effect of conventional and organic fertilization on the chemical and biological properties of M. spicata. Methods: We conducted field trials in a randomized block experimental design, with four replications, using unfertilized crops and crops fertilized with urea (0,15 t ha-1) or vermicompost (5 and 10 t ha-1). Results: All fertilization treatments increased essential oil yield, carvone content, and total polyphenol concentration with respect to the control. They also increased the antioxidant capacity and the inhibitory activity of the acetylcholinesterase, butyrylcholinesterase, α-amylase, and α-glycosidase enzymes. The effect was more marked in the crop fertilized with 5 t ha-1 vermicompost. Conclusions: Both conventional and organic fertilization increase the yield and quality of M. spicata essential oils. However, organic fertilization with 5 t ha-1 vermicompost yields rich total polyphenols and carvone. This improves antioxidant and medicinal properties, acting on enzymes related to Alzheimer's disease and diabetes.</text>

É bastante conhecido no comércio e cidades adjacentes.

PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Agricultura Urbana, Geração de Renda, Autoconsumo        ABSTRACT: This article presents the occurrences of Urban Agriculture practiced in the Santa Amélia neighborhood, located in the city of Maceió - Alagoas, the purpose of the work is to discuss how Urban Agriculture is developed in this locality, what its importance in the economic, social and environmental relations of the neighborhood. In this research, urban agriculture is understood as the agricultural practices carried out in small areas within the city, intended for the production of crops for self-consumption and/or for small-scale marketing in local markets. For the development of the work we used a bibliographical survey on the subject, in order to understand Urban Agriculture and how it has been developed and understood in a general context; field research was carried out for data collection, with the application of a semi-structured interview. The research focused on observations and surveys in a site where the owner and his family are migrants from the rural area of Alagoas and has in the cultivation of land the main source of income for family support. The crops are developed in a consortium, predominating the cultivation of beans, macaxeira, yam, banana, coconut, corn, squash and sweet potatoes. Part of the production is destined for self-consumption by the family and the surplus is marketed door-to-door in the neighborhood and in an improvised tent set up in front of the site.    KEYWORDS: Urban Agriculture.
