The advent and continuous evolution of next-generation sequencing technologies further stress the demands of high-throughput processing of myriads of short DNA fragments. Recently announced sequence assemblers, such as Velvet, SOAPdenovo, and ABySS, all exploit parallelism to meet these computational demands since contemporary computer systems primarily rely on scaling the number of computing cores to improve performance. However, most of them are not tailored to exploit the full potential of these systems, leading to suboptimal performance. In this paper, we present ccTSA, a parallel sequence assembler that utilizes coverage to prune k-mers, find preferred edges, and resolve conflicts in preferred edges between k-mers. We minimize computation dependencies between threads to effectively parallelize k-mer processing. We also judiciously allocate and reuse memory space in order to lower memory usage and further improve sequencing speed. The results of ccTSA are compelling such that it runs several times faster than other assemblers while providing comparable quality values such as N50. The antigen has been produced under current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) and is now in clinical testing. Here, we report on process development and scale-up optimization for upstream fermentation and downstream purification of the antigen. This includes production at the 1-L and 5-L scales in the yeast, Pichia pastoris, and the comparison of three different chromatographic purification methods. This culminated in the selection of a process to produce RBD219-N1C1 with a yield of >400 mg per liter of fermentation with >92% purity and >39% target product recovery after purification. In addition, we show the results from analytical studies, including SEC-HPLC, DLS, and an ACE2 receptor binding assay that were performed to characterize the purified proteins to select the best purification process. Finally, we propose an optimized upstream fermentation and downstream purification process that generates quality RBD219-N1C1 protein antigen and is fully scalable at a low cost. Recursos agrícolas, industriais, financeiros e organizacionais, estilo de liderança, cultura organizacional, reputação, confiança dos agentes externos, redes de relacionamento e o conhecimento sobre o setor foram os principais recursos tangíveis e intangíveis. Nas escolhas gerenciais, destaca-se a atitude proativa diante da intenção de exportar. A análise da aprendizagem reiterou a qualificação do setor pesquisado para atuação no mercado estrangeiro. A ação dos agentes externos, tais como compradores e concorrentes, também é importante para a exportação. O objetivo do artigo foi de verificar a produção agrícola e pecuária dos estabelecimentos agropecuários da agricultura familiar do município de Roque Gonzales, estado do Rio Grande do Sul, do ano-safra agropecuário de 2016-2017. A pesquisa foi realizada com os agricultores familiares a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas com a coleta de dados referentes a produção, produtividade, área, renda e estabelecimentos. Para a análise empregou-se a estatística descritiva e multivariada. Os estabelecimentos familiares concentraram as atividades no campo agrícola, com evidência a produção do milho, soja e bovino de leite. Em relação a área, a produção agrícola se sobressaiu, com predominância a soja, cria/recria de bovinos e bovino leiteiro. Quanto ao valor monetário sublinha-se a hegemonia agrícola frente a pecuária, mas com destaque a bovinocultura de leite, soja e milho. Os dados referentes a principal cultura remetem a interpretação de que os agricultores familiares possuem tendência na produção de commodities, especificamente da soja. No tema da área, facilmente se visualizou o perfil familiar tendo como critério as pequenas extensões produtivas. Na relação entre valor/área, a hortifruticultura se avultou sobre as demais, o que permite admitir que não necessariamente a maior extensão de área corresponda ao maior retorno financeiro. Milho, soja e bovino de leite conformaram uma estrutura agrária ímpar, um sistema heterogêneo que a remarca em um padrão produtivo associado a monocultura, porém, de caráter familiar. Além das políticas nacionais averiguou-se ações estaduais à agroindustrialização que possivelmente impactaram na comercialização de alimentos com valor agregado.
