La comercialización ocupa un papel de creciente importancia en los resultados económicos y financieros de las empresas agropecuarias, donde se destacan carencias de planificación y esfuerzo comercial. El objetivo de este Trabajo Final de Graduación es evaluar y comparar aspectos económicos-financieros entre distintas alternativas comerciales agrícolas y un Caso testigo de la provincia de La Pampa, en el espacio temporal 2006 - 2011. El análisis se centra en los conceptos de estrategia y rivalidad ampliada, haciendo hincapié en los canales comerciales. Se adicionan conceptos desde el enfoque de la teoría neoinstitucional relacionados con la racionalidad limitada y el oportunismo de los actores. Se utiliza la metodología de “Estudio de Caso”. Se analiza la comercialización agrícola de un productor del Centro Este de La Pampa que operó con los productos Maíz, Girasol y Soja. El Caso llevó a cabo una “estrategia combinada” mediante la realización de contratos forward y especulación con el precio disponible. La información se obtuvo de entrevistas al productor agropecuario, a agentes calificados y se trianguló con información secundaria oficial y específica. Las alternativas comerciales que se comparan con el Testigo se simularon a precios corrientes, para luego ser comparadas a valores constantes considerando la información histórica del establecimiento y fuentes secundarias. Las opciones comerciales a comparar con el Caso son: Alternativa I (almacenamiento en silo bolsa y venta en el mes de mayor índice de estacionalidad en el mercado disponible), Alternativa II (cobertura a futuro en época de siembra con cancelación a cosecha), Alternativa III (cobertura a futuro en siembra con cancelación al momento de venta del Testigo), Alternativa IV (cobertura a futuro en cosecha con cancelación en el mes de mayor estacionalidad en el mercado disponible), Alternativa V (articulación con la agroindustria al momento de cosecha). Se mide y compara el desempeño económico-financiero posible mediante 3 indicadores: a) Precio Diferencial; b) Costo Comercial Diferencial y, c) Margen Comercial Neto Diferencial. En las reflexiones finales se destaca que la estrategia comercial de Maíz llevada a cabo en el Caso, presentó rendimientos superiores a las alternativas propuestas. Exceptuando la Alternativa V en el último año de estudio. En Girasol las propuestas comerciales planteadas presentaron, en el 66% de las situaciones, rendimientos superiores a los obtenidos por el productor del establecimiento. En Soja se observaron grandes diferencias entre los 2 años estudiados (2009 - 2010). La Alternativa V presentó rendimientos superiores a los registrados en el Caso testigo, mientras que la Alternativa IV tuvo un desempeño inferior al mismo. Los cambios generados en los márgenes comerciales netos diferenciales estuvieron explicados en mayor medida por las variaciones de precios. Donde los estudios de estacionalidad podrían llegar a ser un aspecto de suma importancia a la hora de planificar la comercialización agrícola. Si bien la utilización de coberturas en el mercado a término presentó resultados mayoritariamente inferiores al Caso, podría ser una buena herramienta a utilizar para diversificar y administrar el riesgo precio. La comercialización llevada a cabo en el Caso testigo supone menores costos de transacción, el nivel de confianza entre los actores es un factor relevante a tener en cuenta en el proceso de toma de decisiones comerciales. La Alternativa V supone mayores costos de transacción, principalmente debido a las asimetrías de información generadas por la falta de transparencia en la operatoria comercial.

The experiment was developed at an organopónico “10 de 0ctober”, Cooperative, located in “LosLetreros”, Manzanillo municipality, Granma province, with the objective to evaluatr the effect at the time ofapplying foliar the bioestimulant of development quifosana in yields indicator over a tillage of “Amalia” tomatovariety and selecting the most adecuate guantity from an agroproductive point of view. The experimentaldesign used was a black taken at radom disposed in four treatments and four replies, in sixteen experimentalplots. It counted with a total area of 403 m² distributed in 100,7 m² by treatment and 25,5 by plots, applyingthe bioestimulante of evelopment when the tillage presented 50% of flowering. The best results where aquantity of 300 mg.ha-1 was used.

El objetivo de esta investigación fue la caracterización reológica y química del hidrocoloide Senna birostris del distrito de Acobamba, Huancavelica. El hidrocoloide se extrajo por el método de tostado (90 °C y 15 min) y molienda. La composición química proximal exhibió un contenido de 10,37 g de humedad, 1,96 g de ceniza, 6,61 g de grasa, 9,31 g de proteína, 2,15 g de fibra, 69,60 g de carbohidratos y 357,75 kcal, por 100 g de hidrocoloide. La caracterización reológica del hidrocoloide se realizó con tres concentraciones (1, 2 y 3%). Se utilizó un reómetro Haake modelo Viscotester iQ, Thermo Scientific, con geometría Mooney – Ewart. Se estableció un tipo de flujo de dilatación (n > 1) y un coeficiente de consistencia (KOW) de 2,9778 x 10-4 y 1,4491 x 10-3 Pa.sn, para 2% y 3%, respectivamente, a 25 °C. El modelo de Arrhenius se ajustó a los datos experimentales de 25 a 65 °C, con un esfuerzo cortante constante de 70 s-1. La energía de activación fue 42353,92, 2429,74 y 4372,66 J.mol-1, para 1%, 2% y 3%, respectivamente. Estos resultados son prometedores para la aplicación de este hidrocoloide en la industria farmacéutica y la agroindustria.

Paracoccidioides brasiliensis foi encontrado, por inoculação de triturado de fígado e baço em hamsters, em 4 de 20 tatus (Dasypus novemcinctus) examinados na região de Tucuruí, Pará. Hamsters inoculados por via intradérmica e peritoneal com o parasito desenvolveram infecções generalizadas e morreram em 1½ a 13 meses. A diagnose do fungo foi confirmada por histopatologia e cultura. Não se observaram sinais macroscópios de doenças nos tatus. A distribuição geográfica de D. novemcinctus abrange a área endêmica de paracoccidioidomicose humana, sugerindo-se que o tatu tenha algum papel na ecologia do fungo.

Rhodnius spp não apresentavam sazonalidade acentuada, porém os encontros de machos de P. geniculatus eram muito mais freqüentes na estação seca.Adults of Rhodnius prolixus, R. pictipes and Panstrongylus geniculatus found in houses in Manaus have high rates of Trypanosoma cruzi infection. Rhodnius spp. were found throughout the year, but males of P. geniculatus were significantly more frequent in the dry season.

There is limited information available describing the clinical and epidemiological features of Spanish patients requiring hospitalization for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In this observational study, we aimed to describe the clinical characteristics and epidemiological features of severe (non-ICU) and critically patients (ICU) with COVID-19 at triage, prior to hospitalization. Forty-eight patients (27 non-ICU and 21 ICU) with positive severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection were analyzed (mean age, 66 years, [range, 33–88 years]; 67% males). There were no differences in age or sex among groups. Initial symptoms included fever (100%), coughing (85%), dyspnea (76%), diarrhea (42%) and asthenia (21%). ICU patients had a higher prevalence of dyspnea compared to non-ICU patients (95% vs. 61%, p = 0.022). ICU-patients had lymphopenia as well as hypoalbuminemia. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), C-reactive protein (CRP), and procalcitonin were significantly higher in ICU patients compared to non-ICU (p < 0.001). Lower albumin levels were associated with poor prognosis measured as longer hospital length (r = −0.472, p < 0.001) and mortality (r = −0.424, p = 0.003). As of 28 April 2020, 10 patients (8 ICU and 2 non-ICU) have died (21% mortality), and while 100% of the non-ICU patients have been discharged, 33% of the ICU patients still remained hospitalized (5 in ICU and 2 had been transferred to ward). Critically ill patients with COVID-19 present lymphopenia, hypoalbuminemia and high levels of inflammation.

Pretende-se observar as transformações conceituais do termo nas ciências que alimentam, de forma hegemônica, o debate sobre meio ambiente e desenvolvimento. O foco está na tensão entre disciplinaridade e interdisciplinaridade no contexto de estabelecimento da relação entre artefato científico e propositividade política. Assim, foram analisados quinze dentre os vinte e cinco artigos mais citados no sítio web of science em cada ciência, sobre os temas 'sustainability' e 'sustainable', entre 1990 e 2009. A análise fundamentou-se na teoria da modernização reflexiva e nos estudos sociais da ciência. Como resultado geral, sugere-se a existência de uma 'interdisciplinaridade disciplinar' entre economia e ecologia, o que facilita suas conexões e operacionalidades, mas dificulta a inserção de elementos socioculturais no debate.El objetivo es ofrecer un análisis de producción científica sobre sustentabilidad en ecología y economía, entre Rio92 y Rio+20. El propósito es observar su transmutación conceptual en las ciencias que alimentan, hegemónicamente, el debate público sobre medio ambiente y desarrollo. El enfoque está en la tensión entre disciplinariedad e interdisciplinariedad en el contexto de establecimiento de la relación entre artefacto científico y propositividad política. Por lo tanto, se analizaron quince de los veinticinco artículos más citados en la página web 'web of science' tanto en ecología como en economía, sobre los temas 'sustainability' y 'sustainable' entre 1990 y 2009. El análisis fue fundamentado en la teoría de la modernización reflexiva y en los estudios sociales de la ciencia. Como resultado, se sugiere que existe una 'interdisciplinariedad disciplinar' entre economía y ecología, que facilita sus conexiones y operaciones, sin embargo, también dificulta la inserción de elemento socioculturales al debate.This work presents an analysis of the scientific production about sustainability in ecology and economy areas in the period between Rio92 and Rio+20. The focus is in the stress between disciplinarity and interdisciplinarity in the context of the establishment of the relation between scientific artifact and politic propositiveness. Thus, this study analyzed fifteen articles among the twenty five most quoted articles in the website 'web of Science' both in ecology and economy, regarding 'sustainability' and 'sustainable' topics between 1990 and 2009. The analysis was founded in the theory of reflective modernization and in social studies of science. Finally, this study suggests the existence of a 'disciplinary interdisciplinarity' between economy and ecology that facilitates its connections and operations; however it also hinders the insertion of socio-cultural elements to the debate.

Comparative animal physiology and related fields (named here 'ecological physiology') are entering a time of synthesis in the form of a quest for large scales patterns. However, these new approaches need to be supplied by great amounts of data, representative of existing animal forms. We tested whether this is the case by performing a quantitative survey in the most important media for ecological physiologists. We found that ecological physiologists have clear biases toward some taxonomic classes, which represent one third of existing animal phyla. Non-taxonomic characterization of animals (endothermy/ectothermy, aquatic/terrestrial), however, produced a more balanced picture. In addition, ecological physiologists appear to be mostly intraspecific biologists since the great majority of studies were performed in one species. Multispecific studies were the minority and comparable to two - species comparative studies. The later are still being published despite to have been strongly criticized in the past. Cross-tabulation analysis yielded results suggesting that natural populations, vertebrates and terrestrial animals are preferred over artificial populations, aquatic animals and invertebrates. Although we recognize the limitations of our survey, it has the value to indicate that historical biases need to be taken in consideration if more global approaches are being undertaking in this disciplineLa fisiología comparada y disciplinas relacionadas (definidas en este trabajo como 'ecología fisiológica') han entrado a un período de síntesis en la forma de búsqueda de patrones a gran escala. Sin embargo, dichos enfoques necesitan ser provistos de una gran cantidad de datos que sean representativos de las formas animales existentes. Evaluamos si este es el caso, efectuando una revisión cuantitativa en el medio más importante para los ecólogos fisiológicos. Encontramos que los ecólogos fisiológicos tienen claros sesgos hacia ciertas clases taxonómicas, las cuales representan un tercio de los phyla animales existentes. La caracterización no taxonómica de los animales (endotermia/ectotermia, acuático/terrestre), sin embargo, produjo un panorama más equilibrado. Además, los resultados sugieren que los ecólogos fisiológicos son eminentemente biólogos intraespecíficos pues la gran mayoría de los trabajos fueron estudios de una especie. Los estudios multiespecíficos son minoritarios y comparables en proporción a estudios comparativos entre dos especies. Estos últimos, a pesar de haber sido fuertemente criticados en el pasado, siguen siendo publicados. El análisis de tablas de contigencia sugiere que poblaciones naturales y vertebrados son preferidos por sobre poblaciones artificiales, invertebrados y animales acuáticos. Aunque reconocemos las limitaciones de esta revisión, el presente trabajo sugiere que los sesgos históricos deben considerarse cuando se están originando enfoques más globales dentro de la disciplina

Evolutionary physiology is a new discipline with roots in comparative physiology. One major change in the emergence of this discipline was an explicit new focus on viewing organisms as the evolutionary products of natural selection. The shift in research emphasis from comparative physiology to evolutionary physiology has resulted in physiological traits becoming important elements in broad research programs of evolution and ecology. Evolutionary quantitative genetics is a theory-based biological discipline that has developed the quantitative tools to test explicit evolutionary hypotheses. The role of quantitative genetics has been paramount, in studying the microevolution of morphology, behavior and life history, but not comparative physiology. As a consequence, little basic information is known such as additive genetic variation of physiological traits and the magnitude of genetically based trade-offs (i.e., genetic correlations) with other traits. Here we explore possible causes for such gap, which we believe are related with the inconsistency of what we call physiological traits across taxonomic and organizational divisions, combined with logistical problems of pedigree_based analyses in complex traitsLa fisiología evolutiva es una nueva disciplina con raíces en la fisiología comparada. Uno de los principales cambios introducidos con esta disciplina es un enfoque donde los organismos son analizados en forma explícita como el producto de selección natural. Este cambio de énfasis desde fisiología comparada a fisiología evolutiva ha resultado en que los rasgos fisiológicos son elementos importantes en el programa de investigación de la evolución y la ecología. La genética cuantitativa evolutiva es una disciplina biológica con bases teóricas que ha desarrollado las herramientas cuantitativas para someter a prueba hipótesis evolutivas en forma explícita. El rol de la genética cuantitativa ha sido notable en el estudio de la microevolución de la morfología, comportamiento e historia de vida, pero no en fisiología comparada. Como consecuencia, existe escasa información básica sobre variación genética aditiva de rasgos fisiológicos y posibles compromisos genéticos (i.e., correlaciones genéticas) que puedan tener estos con otros rasgos.
