Isla del Coco, Pacífico de Costa Rica, ha sido visitada y se ha escrito sobre ella desde el Siglo XVI. Desde finales del Siglo XIX muchas expediciones han desarrollado investigaciones en el Isla. Aquí compilo las publicaciones sobre biología y geología marina, oceanografía física y química, ciencias atmosféricas y algunos temas sociales. Una lista de 599 artículos y capítulos, 41 libros, Suplementos, tesis, informes y un sitio de internet es incluida, y diez libros históricos donde se describen organismos y ambientes marinos de la Isla del Coco. La mayoría de las publicaciones (425 o 66.4%) son sobre biodiversidad marina (descripciones, listas y distribuciones de especies). De los grupos que más publicaciones hay son de los gasterópodos (81 trabajos), decápodos (67) y peces óseos (66). No hay publicaciones de varios grupos de animales que han sido observados en Isla del Coco, por ejemplo, gusanos planos de vida libre, parásitos o nemertinos, entre otros. Temas con muchas publicaciones son: biogeografía con 65, ecología (61) y geología (48); los ecosistemas más estudiados son los arrecifes coralinos con 14 trabajos. Se necesitan más publicaciones en muchos tópicos, tales como el impacto sobre la flora y fauna del Parque Nacional Isla del Coco de la pesca ilegal y el cambio climático.Isla del Coco (also known as Cocos Island), Pacific Costa Rica, has been visited and written about since the 16th Century, and since the late 1800’s many expeditions and scientists have carried out research in the Island. Here I compiled publications on marine biological, geological, oceanographic and atmospheric research done at Isla del Coco. A list of 599 scientific papers and chapters were compiled, together with 41 books, reports, Special Issues, theses and web sites, and ten historic books with descriptions of marine animals or environemnets. A mayority of the publications (425 or 66.4%) are related to marine biodiversity topics (species descriptions and lists of species); the most published groups are gastropods (81 papers), decapods (67) and bony fishes (66). There are no publications of several groups of animals that have been observed in the Island, for example free-living flat worms, parasites and nemerteans among others. Other topics with a large number of publications are, biogeography with 65, ecology (61) and geology (48); the most studied ecosystem are coral reefs with 14 papers. More publications are needed on many topics, such as impact of ilegal fishing and climate change on Isla del Coco National Park marine flora and fauna.

Bahía Culebra se locoaliza en la parte norte de la costa Pacífica de Costa Rica. Es una región de afloramiento estacional, rica en ambientes y organismos marinos, y además, la zona de mayor desarrollo turístico del país. En este trabajo compilo y analizo una lista de 182 publicaciones en revista científcas y 23 tesis, informes y libros sobre organismos, ambientes y procesos marinos y atmosféricos en Bahía Culebra o donde se menciona la Bahía, se presentan y analizan. La gran mayoría de los trabajos, empezando en 1922 con la descripción de un poliqueto, son sobre biodiversidad y ecología. Faltan trabajos sobre algunos ambientes de la bahía, por ejemplo, el bentos de los fondos blandos, y grupos de organismos, por ejemplo, sobre gusanos planos de vida libre. Faltan investigaciones sobre pesquería y manejo de los organismos y ambientes marinos de la Bahía.

Bahía Culebra is located on the north Pacific coast of Costa Rica. It is a seasonal upwelling area, rich in marine ecosystems and organisms, and the main tourist development area in the country. Here, I compiled and analyzed a list of 182 publications in scientific journals, and 23 thesis, reports and books in which marine organisms, environments and marine and atmospheric processes from Bahía Culebra or in which the Bay are mentioned is presented and analyzed. The majority of the publications, starting with a paper from 1922 on a polychaete worm, are on biodiversity and ecology. The are no publications on some environments, for example the benthonic fauna of soft bottoms, or on some taxa, for example, flat worms. More work is needed on fisheries and management of the organisms and environments of Bahía Culebra.

Purpose This bibliometric study investigated the current state of documents on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and Islamic finance published by digital object identifierequipped journals listed in the Dimensions database. The analysis focused on describing the characterictics and trends of the keywords, authors, and journals. Methods The data analyzed were from 149 research publications in Dimensions. The search tems were “COVID” and “Islamic finance.” The searches used to establish the study dataset were last updated on August 27, 2020. Descriptive statistical methods were used, and a bibliometric analysis was conducted using Biblioshiny, an R-based app, to generate a bibliometric map. Results The number of articles discussing the theme of COVID-19 and Islamic finance was quite large in recent months, with more than 100 articles published. The most popular keywords used were “COVID,” “food,” and “pandemic,” although there were also many keywords that related more specifically to the field of Islamic finance, namely “banks,” “markets,” “health,” “debt,” “equity,” “management,” and “stock.” Conclusion This study provides an overview of trends in the most popular keywords, journals, and authors of articles on the topic of COVID-19 and Islamic finance, which has been quite a popular theme in recent months, thereby providing information for researchers specializing in the field of Islamic finance. This theme has the potential to continue to be developed.

A espécie Ecdytolopha aurantiana (Lima, 1927) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) trata-se de praga potencial para a cultura dos citros no Estado de Santa Catarina. Sua ocorrência já foi observada em alguns municípios da região oeste catarinense, caso de Chapecó, Palmitos e Pinhalzinho, atacando praticamente todas as variedades de laranja. A praga é conhecida como bicho-furão porque as lagartinhas, recém-emergidas do ovo, furam os frutos e aí se desenvolvem, causando queda prematura e apodrecimento deles. Altas infestações podem causar até 50% de perdas de frutos. Recentemente foi desenvolvido um método de monitoramento da praga, através do uso de armadilhas de feromônios, que permite tomar uma decisão mais racional no caso de controle químico, ou seja, apenas é recomendado pulverizar quando forem capturados seis ou mais machos/armadilha/semana. Ainda como medida de controle, recomenda-se apanhar os frutos atacados das árvores e do chão e enterrá-los para que não haja reinfestação pelos adultos.

El crecimiento de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (CABA) no escapa a la tendencia mundial de crecimiento poblacional en las zonas urbanas. En este contexto, surgen movimientos sociales que buscan construir alternativas a la forma de vida impuesta por la modernidad en las grandes urbes. Uno de esos movimientos se produce en torno a los procesos socioambientales de defensa y restauración de espacios verdes y de conformación de nuevas comunidades; movimientos que pueden pensarse en el marco de una resignificación y apropiación del territorio, para constituirlo en un bien común urbano. El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar las tensiones que produce la creación de nuevos bienes comunes urbanos a partir del análisis de caso de la ecoaldea Velatropa, ubicada en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, en CABA, Argentina. Para ello, se utiliza una metodología cualitativa, basada en el método etnográfico de observación participante, complementado mediante el análisis de fuentes secundarias. Los resultados describen la tensión fundamental que surge de las racionalidades contrapuestas por sobre las que actúa cada uno de los actores involucrados en el conflicto. En este caso, se encuentran cara a cara la convivencia comunitaria y ecológica del territorio con el uso mercantil del predio. Abstract The growth of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) does not escape the worldwide trend of population growth in urban areas. In this context, social movements emerge seeking to build alternatives to the way of life imposed by modernity in large cities. One of these movements takes place around the socio-environmental processes of defense and restoration of green spaces and the conformation of new communities. The movements can be thought in the framework of a resignification and appropriation of territory to constitute it in an urban common good. The objective of this article is to analyze the tensions produced by the creation of new urban commons based on the case analysis of the Velatropa ecovillage, located in the University Campus of the University of Buenos Aires, in CABA, Argentina. For this, the research uses a qualitative methodology, based on the ethnographic method of participant observation, complemented by the analysis of secondary sources of information. The results describe the fundamental tension that arises from the conflicting rationalities over which each one of the actors involved in the conflict acts. In this case, the community and ecological coexistence of the territory with the mercantile use of the property are face to face.

En el contexto de una planificación que declara privilegiar los elementos de la estructura ecológica,pero que podría comprometer la provisión de suelos para soportar coberturas que ofrezcan bienesy servicios ecosistémicos, se presenta un aporte a la discusión sobre cómo lograr un balance entredensificación y provisión de estos bienes y servicios, mediante la reconstrucción de la transformación de la cobertura de un segmento de la cuenca del río Fucha en Bogotá en un lapso de 77 añosy la verificación de las relaciones de dicha transformación con los instrumentos de planificación ygestión. Los resultados obtenidos sugieren una regulación reactiva, con limitaciones para conducirla ocupación del territorio, de la que se puede esperar una acentuación de la aridez. Estos resultadossustentan las conclusiones sobre la necesidad de replantear la regulación sobre áreas consolidadas eintroducir instrumentos de gestión de la cobertura.

: Due to the spread of COVID-19 worldwide in 2020, the tourism industry is facing a calamitous crisis as migration and travel between the countries has been restricted. The purpose of this study is to explore changes in Korean tourism behavior after COVID-19. Korean social media data was collected from the World Health Organization’s declaration of a public health emergency of international concern, in January 2020, to August 2020, the summer vacation season. Keywords were extracted via text mining, and the current perspectives of Koreans concerning tourism that manifest content analysis were investigated. In addition, UCINET 6 was used to visualize related words by conducting centrality analysis, CONCOR (CONvergent CORrelation) analysis, and semantic system network analysis. The analysis showed that Korean tourists have increased their preference for domestic travel, and showed interest in government subsidies. Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic leads governments around the world to resort to tracking technology and other data-driven tools in order to monitor and curb the spread of SARS-CoV-2. Such large-scale incursion into privacy and data protection is unthinkable during times of normalcy. However, in times of a pandemic the use of location data provided by telecom operators and/or technology companies becomes a viable option. Importantly, legal regulations hardly protect people’s privacy against governmental and corporate misuse. Established privacy regimes are focused on individual consent, and most human rights treaties know derogations from privacy and data protection norms for states of emergency. This leaves little safeguards nor remedies to guarantee individual and collective autonomy. However, the challenge of responsible data use during a crisis is not novel. The humanitarian sector has more than a decade of experience to offer. International organisations and humanitarian actors have developed detailed guidelines on how to use data responsibly under extreme circumstances. This article briefly addresses the legal gap of data protection and privacy during this global crisis. Then it outlines the state of the art in humanitarian practice and academia on data protection and data responsibility during crisis.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus may have direct or indirect effects on other human organs beyond the respiratory system and including the liver, via binding of the spike protein. This study investigated the potential direct interactions with the liver by comparing the binding of SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins to human AT2-like cells, primary human hepatocytes and immortalized hepatocyte-like hybrid cells. Receptors with binding specificity for SARS-CoV-2 spike protein on AT2 cells and hepatocytes were identified. The specific binding of biotinylated spike and spike 1 proteins to undifferentiated human E12 MLPC (E12), E12 differentiated alveolar type 2 (AT2) cells, primary human hepatocytes (PHH) and E12 human hepatocyte-like hybrid cells (HLC) was studied by confocal microscopy. We investigated the expression of ACE-2, binding of biotinylated spike protein, biotinylated spike 1 and inhibition of binding by unlabeled spike protein, two neutralizing antibodies and an antibody directed against the hepatocyte asialoglycoprotein receptor 1 (ASGr1). E12 MLPC did not express ACE-2 and did not bind either of spike or spike 1 proteins. AT2-like cells expressed ACE-2 and bound both spike and spike 1. Both PHH and HLC did not express ACE-2 and did not bind spike 1 protein. However, both PHH and HLC actively bound the spike protein. Biotinylated spike protein binding was inhibited by unlabeled spike but not spike 1 protein on PHH and HLC. Two commercial neutralizing antibodies blocked the binding of the spike to PHH and HLC but only one blocked binding to AT2. An antibody to the hepatocyte ASGr1 blocked the binding of the spike protein to PHH and HLC. The absence of ACE-2 receptors and inhibition of spike binding by an antibody to the ASGr1 on both PHH and HLC suggested that the spike protein interacts with the ASGr1. The differential antibody blocking of spike binding to AT2, PHH and HLC indicated that neutralizing activity of SARS-CoV-2 binding might involve additional mechanisms beyond RBD binding to ACE-2.
