Metodologia/Desenvolvimento: A metodologia de pesquisa baseia-se na necessidade de teorizar a prática militante, realizando um aprofundamento teórico através de uma revisão bibliográfica para sistematização de conteúdos ligados à questão agrária, buscando compreender o tecido social em que está inserido o Projeto de Assentamento Pirituba II. A identificação das formas de organização do trabalho e da caracterização da produção do assentamento foi feito a partir dos arquivos da Cooperativa Regional, que foram sistematizados de forma a compreender melhor o papel das políticas públicas ligadas à Reforma Agrária na estruturação do assentamento e na organização dos trabalhadores rurais assentados. Considerações finais: A pesquisa mostra que o avanço do sistema metabólico do capital tem sido assimilado pelo Estado e pela economia brasileira desde o início de sua formação. As relações de produção baseadas na agricultura de caráter comercial, exportador, gerando inúmeras condições de trabalho estranhado e na separação dos trabalhadores dos meios de produção impactam diretamente as políticas públicas a serem implantadas no campo, alterando sobremaneira a vida dos que vivem do seu trabalho. Apesar de ser uma região que convive historicamente com irregularidades de precipitação, neste período a situação foi seriamente agravada pela degradação ambiental provocada pela monocultura de eucalipto e pela exploração mineral. No campo, os efeitos da seca e da privatização dos recursos recaíram principalmente sobre agricultores familiares, que mobilizaram as comunidades rurais organizadas e as agências de mediação, como sindicatos e associações, para ter acesso a programas públicos de abastecimento de água. Este artigo analisa iniciativas, originadas principalmente de órgãos estatais, mas também da sociedade civil, de provimento de água de comunidades rurais durante o período de seca. Lukacovic Description An account of the resource This study analyzes securitized discourses and counter narratives that surround the COVID-19 pandemic. Controversial cases of security related political communication, salient media enunciations, and social media reframing are explored through the theoretical lenses of securitization and cascading activation of framing in the contexts of Slovakia, Russia, and the United States. The first research question explores whether and how the frame element of moral evaluation factors into the conversations on the securitization of the pandemic. The analysis tracks the framing process through elite, media, and public levels of communication. The second research question focused on fairly controversial actors— “rogue actors” —such as individuals linked to far-leaning political factions or militias. The proliferation of digital media provides various actors with opportunities to join publicly visible conversations. The analysis demonstrates that the widely differing national contexts offer different trends and degrees in securitization of the pandemic during spring and summer of 2020. The studied rogue actors usually have something to say about the pandemic, and frequently make some reframing attempts based on idiosyncratic evaluations of how normatively appropriate is their government's “war” on COVID-19. In Slovakia, the rogue elite actors at first failed to have an impact but eventually managed to partially contest the dominant frame. Powerful Russian media influencers enjoy some conspiracy theories but prudently avoid direct challenges to the government's frame, and so far only marginal rogue actors openly advance dissenting frames. The polarized political and media environment in the US has shown to create a particularly fertile ground for rogue grassroots movements that utilize online platforms and social media, at times going as far as encouragement of violent acts to oppose the government and its pandemic response policy. This effect is even stronger among migrant workers, who are less likely to qualify for, or be aware they qualify for, government support. This study reviews the response to COVID-19 of 45 of the leading ASWs in Britain, and triangulates the data with seven sex worker-led organisations. It shows a large variation in the responses of ASWs: the majority had no public response to the pandemic at all, a minority took intentional steps to support workers or donated to hardship funds for sex workers, and at least one ASW reduced their safety features during the pandemic. These findings illustrate that while most ASWs do not acknowledge the influence they have over the working practices of their service users and the shift of economic risk to them, some recognised the potential that their platforms have to support sex workers during crises.
