On methodology, a case study was conducted at the extreme western region of Santa Catarina. The data survey was composed by interviews with 37 family farmers and 21 local operators of public policies. This region is characterized by the presence of a family farm socioeconomic dynamics. The analysis reveals a duality in public action. In one hand, policies to agroecology were created. In other hand, the operation of those public policies analyzed, prioritizes the increasing productivity of family farming units with high dependence on external inputs, while disregards the profitability per area and the enhancement of local resources. We conclude that public action has limited the adoption of agroecology as a technological paradigm. En torno a estos ámbitos se discuten conceptos como las nuevas institucionalidades multi-actor que se están generando en torno a las políticas alimentarias urbanas; la dialéctica entre administración, organizaciones sociales y sector agrario o la pertinencia de distintas miradas como los enfoques de Sistema Alimentario de Ciudad-Región. Las conclusiones sugieren profundizar en la articulación de los enfoques top-down y bottom-up de las políticas alimentarias, aportando centralidad al papel del sector agrario ecológico y a actores urbanos desfavorecidos, así como a la importancia de trascender la escala meramente local para poder desarrollar el potencial de sostenibilidad de las políticas alimentarias. A partir de la interpretación de imágenes de satélite y fotografias aéreas, apoyada en información secundaria y verificación de campo, se identificaron 15 unidades geomorfológicas básicas de origen estructural, fluvial y marino. Con base las características geomorfológicas y criterios de resiliencia frente a la acción del oleaje y la inundación litoral, se generó un modelo morfodinámico que pronostica el impacto del ascenso del nivel marino para el litoral Caribe colombiano. De acuerdo con este análisis, se estima que las unidades geomorfológicas recientes desarrolladas durante los últimos 2.500 años podrían ser reactivadas por el actual ascenso del nivel del mar, afectando numerosos centros urbanos tales como Cartagena, Santa Marta, Puerto Colombia y Turbo y actividades económicas de-importancia como el comercio portuario y el turismo. Para los 1.819 Km. de línea de costa del Caribe Colombiano, se estima que el 33.7% presenta alta susceptibilidad a la erosión marina, representado por geoformas que presentan grari fragilidad ante los procesos erosivos. En la linea de costa restante, 31,2% presenta susceptibilidad mec!ia y 35.1% susceptibilidad baja y muy baja, en una linea de costa caracterizada por geoformas con fragilidad y mecanismos de resiliencia variables. Por inundación, se pronostica que 1192 Km2 de costa baja serán anegados, 2331 Km2 sufrirán encharcamiento fuerte a inundación y 2336 Km2 presentarán encharcamiento leve a moderado. En escenarios globales de cambio climático, los grupos conservacionistas deben entender las manifestaciones de la variabilidad climática en el comportamiento y distribución de poblaciones vulnerables para el desarrollo de estrategias de manejo. Este estudio tiene como objetivo identificar y sintetizar bibliografía que describa los principales efectos potenciales del cambio climático en las poblaciones de venado cola blanca a lo largo de su rango de distribución. Se realizó una intensa revisión bibliográfica mediante dos buscadores científicos en internet (Google Scholar; Web of Science) del 2000 al 2016. Durante la búsqueda se registraron documentos referentes al efecto del clima en poblaciones de venado cola blanca. Como resultado, de los 4 000 documentos publicados durante el periodo evaluado (los últimos 16 años), se encontraron18 documentos formalmente publicados en revistas peer reviewed, los cuales evidencian manifestaciones climáticas en poblaciones silvestres de venado cola blanca. Las principales respuestas observadas fueron las siguientes: cambios en la distribución, aumentos en la incidencia de enfermedades, cambios en los patrones de movimiento, cambios en la demografía poblacional, disminución de la calidad del forraje y cambios en el hábitat.  Se concluye que la información disponible es limitada, restringida a la distribución norte del venado cola blanca, la cual no muestra información sobre los ecosistemas tropicales más allá de México, por lo que se necesitan, con urgencia, herramientas y enfoques para evaluar los efectos a largo y mediano plazo de la variabilidad climática en poblaciones de ungulados tropicales, pues la falta de información, al respecto, es evidente. Retana, Equipo MONTES Consolider Description An account of the resource El mundo se enfrenta a una situación de cambio global en el que una combinación de alteraciones ambientales y bióticas (cambios en la composición atmosférica, en el clima, en el uso del suelo, en el régimen de incendios o en la introducción de especies) amenazan a muchos de los ecosistemas naturales y los servicios que estos proporcionan tales como mantenimiento del ciclo del carbono, la regulación de los recursos hídricos o la biodiversidad, entre otros. El proyecto MONTES surge como un programa de investigación sobre la relación entre los factores de cambio global y los servicios ecosistémicos en el monte mediterráneo, con el objetivo de orientar las oportunidades de manejo forestal y su adaptación al cambio. Este objetivo se organiza en tres ejes que combinan el análisis de la influencia del cambio global en el monte, el modo en que el monte puede a su vez modificar los efectos del cambio global y la variación de dichas interacciones mediante la gestión forestal. Para ello, MONTES se encuentra estructurado en siete módulos de trabajo que condensan todas las posibles interacciones entre factores y servicios: (1) las interacciones entre el monte y la atmósfera, (2) cambios en la fijación de carbono en los montes, (3) cambios en la distribución de especies causados por el cambio climático, (4) consecuencias sobre la disponibilidad de agua, (5) consecuencias de los cambios de uso del suelo y fragmentación en la conservación de especies, (6) vulnerabilidad de las especies al fuego y gestión preventiva de los grandes incendios, (7) invasiones ecológicas y consecuencias en la biodiversidad, más un octavo módulo centrado en la transversalidad e interacciones entre módulos. El proyecto incorpora la escala de parcela, local y regional utilizando información existente y a través de nueve áreas de estudio distribuidas por toda España que cubren montañas no mediterráneas (Pirineos y Montseny), montañas (Sierra Nevada, Alto Tajo y Prades) y llanuras mediterráneas (Garraf, Sierra de Segura y Doñana) y cultivos experimentales. MONTES integra el trabajo de más de 90 científicos y técnicos pertenecientes a 11 entidades españolas de investigación principalmente en ecología terrestre, además de colaboración extranjera de prestigio. El proyecto pretende así consolidar una plataforma competitiva y multidisciplinar de investigación a largo plazo y abierta a futuras colaboraciones nacionales e internacionales. O estudo foi desenvolvido em esquema de blocos inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 4x2, composto pelas doses de bioestimulante (0, 4, 8, e 12 mL L-1) e temperaturas (25°C e 40°C). Foi avaliada a taxa de germinação, o tempo médio de germinação, o índice de velocidade de germinação, o crescimento inicial das plântulas e a massa seca de parte aérea e raiz de plântulas. Observou-se que a taxa de germinação foi favorecida pelo aumento das doses de bioestimulante em ambas as temperaturas. No entanto, a temperatura de 40°C interfere negativamente no tempo médio e no índice de velocidade de germinação. Houve efeito positivo para a aplicação de bioestimulante apenas para sementes submetidas à temperatura de 40°C sobre o tempo médio de germinação e o índice de velocidade de germinação, enquanto que na temperatura de 25°C o bioestimulante prejudicou o tempo médio de germinação. In the second week of the month, the government mandated all sectors to take necessary actions to curb the spread. The research set out to evaluate how the disaster emergency response was carried out amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (SRY). The research employs qualitative observation of adaptive governance variables, i.e., infrastructure availability, information, conflict mechanism, regulation, and adaptation. The research analyzed primary data collected from focus group discussions with key persons at the Local Disaster Management Agency, Local Development Planning Agency, and Disaster Risk Reduction Platform responsible for the crisis and included an online survey to validate data. The research revealed that the SRY had exhibited adaptive governance to the COVID-19 pandemic, as apparent by, among others, open-access spatial and non-spatial data, extensive combined uses of both types of data, and prompt active engagement of communities in the enforcement of new rules and regulations mandated by national and provincial governments. Furthermore, during emergency responses to COVID-19, the stakeholders provided infrastructure and information, dealt with conflicts in multiple spatial units, encouraged adaptations, and formulated emergent rules and regulations. For further research, we encourage qualitative analysis to confront other types of natural disaster for the research area.
