To meet basic needs, people should continue their work in the middle of COVID-19 fear. Informal workers are among the most vulnerable groups to COVID-19 transmission because they frequently interact with the outsiders and find it difficult to comply with the health protocols. One way to prevent the COVID-19 transmission is the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, face shields, and gloves. Although these products to some degree are effective in preventing transmission, several risks that may endanger its users, such as incorrect or excessive use, incorrect maintenance, bad PPE design, and others. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the risks of the COVID-19 PPE and review the prevention recommendations for these risks. Risk analysis was carried out using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to analyze the use of masks, face shields, and gloves for the context of general informal workers in Indonesia. There are 5 aspects analyzed: product design, preparation for use, use, storage, and disposal. Se caracterizó las fincas dedicadas a producción especializada de ganado de doble propósito con manejo de registros, sistemas de producción, nivel de formación, venta formal de ganado. Se aplicó una metodología de tipo empírica donde se utilizó el método descriptivo en campo y método lógico deductivo en gabinete, en el cual se encuentra la ubicación donde se realizó la investigación con sus debidas coordenadas y sus limitaciones. El cuestionario estuvo conformado por doce preguntas como la edad de agricultores, nivel de educación, ubicación del hato ganadero, manejo, número de animales, problemas de comercialización y financiamientos, entre otros. En los resultado encontrados 86% de los ganaderos tienen ingresos por debajo del salario básico unificado, la actividad ganadera que practica el 95% tiene un sistema de producción extensivo, se concluye que la situación ganadera de los productores ganaderos posen pequeñas fincas dedicadas a la explotación extensiva, donde el 57,1% posee un número de animales comprendidos ente (10 y 30) cabezas de ganado vacuno especializado para la producción de doble propósito que están en la categoría de pequeños productores. Palabras clave: Ganadería, rural, producción, seguridad, alimentaria, desarrollo.   The objective of this research was to carry out a situational analysis of livestock activity in five sites in the parish of Palmales in the canton of Arenillas (Ecuador), with the purpose of contributing to generate strategies to improve productivity on the livestock farms of each producer and in the same way that they can benefit from all programs or advice from government entities that are an important factor for financial development and growth. Farms dedicated to specialized dual-purpose livestock production with record management, production systems, level of training, and formal livestock sales were characterized. An empirical methodology was followed, using the descriptive method in the field and the logical deductive method in the office, where the location of the research was located with its due coordinates and limitations. The questionnaire consisted of twelve questions such as the age of farmers, level of education, location of the herd, management, number of animals, marketing and financing problems, among others. In the results found 86% of the cattle ranchers have incomes below the unified basic salary, the cattle activity that 95% practice has an extensive production system, it is concluded that the cattle situation of the cattle producers have small farms dedicated to the extensive exploitation, where 57.1% have a number of animals included between (10 and 30) heads of specialized cattle for the double purpose production that are in the category of small producers. La investigación se plantea al carecer de información formal y documentada que permita visualizar la realidad del sector frijolero en aspectos sociales, ambientales y económicos en el campo de la sustentabilidad de gremios conformados principalmente por pequeños productores de empresas cooperativas y asociaciones, en los cantones de Upala, Guatuso y Los Chiles de la Zona Huetar Norte, así como en las localidades de Santa Cecilia y la Cruz de Guanacaste. Para lo anterior, se utilizó la metodología conocida como marco de evaluación MESMIS. Las conclusiones más relevantes arrojan que la actividad frijolera es una actividad familiar, con una alta vulnerabilidad en factores sociales y económicos asociados a la actividad, resultados que se vinculan directamente con la declaratoria del Año Internacional de la Agricultura Familiar (AIAF) 2014, propuesto por la FAO, que tiene como objetivo aumentar la visibilidad de la agricultura familiar y la agricultura a pequeña escala.   During the latter years, dry bean production in Costa Rica has lost competitiveness due to high production costs and lower import prices that lead to reconsider whether dry bean production should still be encouraged but also consider the social, environmental and cultural consequences entailed in this activity. This research was driven by a lack of documented formal data that could help visualize the sector’s social, environmental and economic aspects that bind together the professional unions of mainly cooperative and rural associations of small farmers in the cantons of Upala, Guatuso and Los Chiles of the Northern Huetar Zone, as well as those from the communities of Santa Cecilia and La Cruz in the Guanacaste province.  To this end, a methodology known as the MESMIS Evaluating Framework was used. Sin embargo, la asignación de un taxón a un grupo trófico no representa necesariamente el mismo en otras regiones. En la Región Neotropical, el conocimiento sobre la ecología trófica de larvas de tricópteros es incompleta y la literatura sobre este tema rara vez se ocupa del análisis de los hábitos alimentarios de larvas con datos cuantitativos a nivel de especie. Este trabajo aporta al conocimiento de las características tróficas de la trichopterofauna del Neotrópico. Se describen los hábitos alimentarios de tres especies de Trichoptera registrados en arroyos de Yungas de Argentina y Bolivia: Marilia cinerea, M. elongata y M. flexuosa. Se seleccionaron 15 larvas de cada especie en 13 arroyos de Yungas surandinas para analizar las piezas bucales y el contenido estomacal. El solapamiento de nicho trófico se estimó mediante el índice de Schoener. El análisis de la dieta reveló que las especies difieren en la preferencia de los ítems registrados, hábitat y forma de sus mandíbulas. Las larvas de M. cinerea habitan en superficies de rocas emergentes. Poseen mandíbulas fuertes con grandes zonas molares y consumen principalmente invertebrados. Esta evidencia permite asignarle el grupo funcional depredador. M. elongata consume material fino, sus mandíbulas tienen forma de cuchara y su ubicación en zonas de bajo flujo permite asignarle una estrategia colectora-recolectora. Las larvas de M. flexuosa habitan en fondos arenosos de arroyos de montaña, tienen fuertes piezas bucales en forma de cuchara y una dieta dominada por hojarasca y material fino. Pertenecen al grupo funcional triturador, secundariamente colector-recolector. Sugerimos que la asignación de grupo funcional a nivel de género no es recomendable para Marilia. Se recomiendan mayores estudios a nivel de especie. Mendoza, Eleazar Carranza González Description An account of the resource La disponibilidad de información climática de calidad y espacialmente distribuida es importante para el desarrollo de investigación en distintas disciplinas como la Hidrología, Agronomía, Climatología y Ecología. Este artículo se propone obtener un modelo espacialmente distribuido de precipitación y temperatura de la cuenca del lago de Cuitzeo, a partir de métodos de interpolación que utilizan variables climáticas y geográficas apoyado en la aplicación de los análisis de correlación y regresión simple y múltiple, uso de herramientas propias de los sistemas de información geográfica. Para ello se elaboraron tres diferentes modelos: el primero con las 17 estaciones que se encuentran en la cuenca (Modelo cuenca); el segundo con 24 estaciones localizadas a menos de 10 km del límite de la cuenca (Modelo buffer 10) y el tercero con 30, localizadas a menos de 20 km de distancia del parteaguas (Modelo buffer 20). Con base en los resultados de confiabilidad, el mapa final de temperatura media, fue el mapa de regresión basado en el modelo buffer 20 corregido por la adición del mapa de anomalías, el cual presentó un valor de R²= 0.73 y un RMSE=0.64 °C. En los mapas de precipitación se observaron mejores resultados de confiabilidad para los modelos elaborados con la información del modelo buffer 20. El mapa final de precipitación anual fue el obtenido a partir del mapa de regresión sin corrección por residuales, presentando un coeficiente de determinación R² = 0.746 y un RMSE de 55.51. Con base en el análisis de confiabilidad, ambos modelos tienen coeficientes de determinación aceptables (Prob>F= 0.05); sin embargo, los modelos podrían mejorarse de contar con una mayor cantidad de estaciones al interior de la cuenca, ya que la cantidad y calidad de los datos es una variable que afecta los resultados de un modelamiento. Los mapas finales, son de importancia para modelar la distribución espacial de tipos de vegetación, así como especies vegetales, ya que el clima es un factor fundamental que junto con otras variables como la altitud, suelos, pendientes, exposición, entre otros, determinan la distribución de las comunidades vegetales y sus especies. Esta quinta revolución tecnológica puede revolucionar la industria agrícola al a) facilitar la integración de nuevas tecnologías b) mejorar la eficiencia de las operaciones agrícolas. En este sentido, los drones y los satélites son dos de las muchas tecnologías previstas, ya que están allanando el camino hacia una agricultura sostenible y de precisión: añadiendo así un valor sustancial a la adquisición de datos de los cultivos, ideando simulaciones de rendimiento, prediciendo los períodos de cosecha y de riego, erradicando los obstáculos de los datos metrológicos, etc. Las continuas mejoras técnicas y pragmáticas de ambas, a lo largo de las tres últimas décadas, han contribuido considerablemente a la madurez de estas tecnologías, anticipando así su eficaz integración en la agricultura. Sus aplicaciones se resumen en la tabla 1. Dada la gran importancia de estas tecnologías novedosas y proactivas, es indispensable educar y reforzar a los estudiantes para que aprovechen al máximo el potencial de la agricultura actual, garantizando así la sostenibilidad.Abstract: The year 2021 has been officially marked as the beginning of the era of “Industry 5.0” by the European Commission. This 5th technological revolution can revolutionize the agricultural industry by a) facilitating the integration of novel technologies b) enhancing the efficiency of agricultural operations. In this regard, drones and satellites are two of the many anticipated technologies, as they are paving the way towards a sustainable and precision farming: thereby adding a substantial value to crop data acquisition, devising yield simulations, predicting the harvesting and irrigation periods, eradicating the metrological data hindrances etc. The continuous technical and pragmatic improvements of the two, over the past three decades, have considerably contributed towards the maturity of these technologies, thus anticipating their efficient integration into agriculture. Their applications are summarized in Table 1. Given the significant importance of these sustainably proactive and novel technologies, it is indispensable to educate and reinforce the students, to maximize the potential of today´s agriculture: thereby ensuring sustainability.
