El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar los cambios de los periodos de crecimiento para tres pastos tropicales, bajo los efectos del cambio climático en Cuba. Se utilizó información de un registro de 30 años (línea base 1961-1990) de temperatura y precipitación medias mensuales, de la base de datos del Centro de Clima -perteneciente al Instituto de Meteorología de Cuba-, correspondiente a 61 estaciones meteorológicas. La evapotranspiración de referencia se calculó por la fórmula de Penman Monteith, modificada por la FAO y ajustada a las condiciones climáticas locales. Se realizó un análisis de las deficiencias hídricas, de las fechas de inicio y fin del periodo de crecimiento, y del índice de aridez. Para el análisis de los climas futuros, se usaron salidas diarias del Modelo de Circulación General Echan4, con el forzamiento de los escenarios de emisiones A2 y B2. El periodo de crecimiento, para 2071-2099, comenzará con un retraso de entre 12 y 15 decenas para Cynodon nlemfuensis Vanderyst y Cenchrus purpureus (Schumach.) Morrone. En contraste, se prevé un adelanto de la fecha de finalización del periodo entre la segunda y la tercera decenas de noviembre para C. nlemfuensis y C. purpureus, y en la primera decena para Megathyrsus maximus (Jacq.) B.K. Simon & S.W.L. Jacobs. Se comprobó que el clima de Cuba sufrirá un fuerte proceso de aridización, y llegará a clasificarse como subhúmedo seco. Se concluye que el comportamiento de las precipitaciones y la evapotranspiración del cultivo tiene un impacto marcado en la duración del periodo de crecimiento de las especies de pastos en estudio, con una reducción de este, lo que se evidenciará en el retraso de las fechas de inicio y el adelanto de las de culminación. Ello tendría amplia repercusión en la duración de las fases fenológicas, los componentes del rendimiento y la calidad nutricional del cultivo, así como en la aparición de plagas y enfermedades.

Las transformaciones geográficas, el crecimiento demográfico y el entramado del desarrollo técnico han modificado irreversiblemente la ciudad como modo de vida comunitario hasta convertirla en una “ciudad-territorio” posmetropolitana alterando las prácticas existenciales que la atraviesan. Las subjetividades parecen replegarse y se desmoronan en la ciudad-territorio expresando un creciente desajuste entre el territorio físico, existencial, social y político. El artículo intenta pensar una ecología de las ideas, entre decadencias locales y globales y modos de avizorar posibles porvenires. Necesitamos diagnósticos capaces de dar cuenta, de las mutaciones en el orden de la ciudad y de las transformaciones subjetivas que determinan nuestras prácticas. Objeto de la “ecosofía” es la “inclusión” social, que no puede darse por decreto. Incluir no es someter a la obediencia y al mando sino singularizar para la invención y autonomía crítica de las relaciones por venir capaces de dar a luz instituciones más libres e integradoras.

El siguiente artículo presenta los drones como una tecnología que ayuda a los múltiples procesos de la agricultura, a captar información importante y a evaluar las condiciones de los terrenos monitoreados, gracias a sus grandes ventajas para sobrevolar los campos y los cultivos. Ahora no es completamente necesario recorrer todo el cultivo personalmente para detectar los problemas que sufre este, ya que con los drones el procedimiento de evaluar los cultivos se puede hacer de forma virtual, aplicando tecnologías de cámaras con alta definición e información georreferenciada para su ubicación exacta. Lo más importante es el poder determinar de forma prematura y eficiente las enfermedades, las plagas, la maleza y los posibles efectos futuros de daños climáticos como las heladas o sequías. La eficiencia, tanto ambiental como económica, ayuda en los procesos de siembra, costos de riego, abono y fumigación.

Con el objetivo de evaluar la eficiencia del policultivo yuca-frijol (Manihot esculenta Crantz-Phaseolus vulgaris) y determinar el arreglo topológico más adecuado se desarrolló un estudio durante los años 1993-1995 en el Instituto de Investigaciones Hortícolas “Liliana Dimitrova”, provincia de La Habana, Cuba, sobre un suelo Ferralítico Rojo Compactado. Se utilizó la tecnología de canteros de 1,40 m y un diseño de bloques al azar con cuatro repeticiones. Se evaluaron nueve tratamientos con tres momentos de siembra y tres distribuciones en el espacio así como los testigos en monocultivo. El mejor arreglo espacial para la yuca fue cuando se plantó al centro del cantero (28,3 t/ha) y el frijol se sembró veinte días después a ambos lados de la yuca. El frijol también brindó su mayor rendimiento (1,53 t/ha) con este arreglo. En el cálculo de todas las combinaciones asociadas se obtuvo un uso equivalente de la tierra (UET) de 1,01 - 1,85.

Contexto: Los efectos negativos del cambio climático y los sistemas de producción de alimentos de forma creciente, intensiva e insostenible, están atentando contra la estabilidad de los paisajes y por tanto contra sus componentes, incluido el propio ser humano. La implementación de los principios del manejo sostenible de tierras, proveen un grupo de beneficios sociales y ecológicos. Sin embargo, este se aplica mayoritariamente en espacios muy reducidos como un agroecosistema.Objetivo: Analizar desde un enfoque científico y social la necesidad del escalado de prácticas de manejo sostenible de tierras al paisaje como categoría del espacio geográfico.Método: Se aplica la revisión documental e integración de los enfoques de manejo sostenible de tierras y la necesidad de su escalado al paisaje, junto a otros enfoques de sostenibilidad como la agroecología.Resultados: Se percibe un vacío teórico referido al escalado del manejo sostenible de tierras al paisaje como categoría del espacio geográfico. La necesidad del escalado se justifica fundamentalmente en que la envergadura de los problemas ecológicos y sociales trasciende los espacios reducidos como una finca o agroecosistema.Conclusiones: El paisaje forma parte intrínseca de la identidad cultural, constituye un patrimonio de gran valor natural y antrópico que se debe respetar. El escalado de prácticas de manejo sostenible de tierras al paisaje, constituye una necesidad. Los problemas naturales, económicos y sociales relacionados con el uso de la tierra, sobrepasan los límites de un agroecosistema para su solución.

Introducción. Este trabajo reúne información preliminar sobre un proyecto cuya hipótesis es que la inclusión de errores en algunos temas por parte del profesor induce a los alumnos a buscarlos, localizarlos, discutirlos y conocerlos, llevando a un mejor conocimiento de la asignatura y por tanto a adquirir las competencias que marca el Plan Bolonia. Métodos. El proyecto que se concibió para aplicar un método basado en el error, pero con potenciación mediante gamificación en cinco asignaturas de tres grados de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. A causa de la pandemia COVID-19 se tuvieron que modificar algunos objetivos planificados al solicitar la concesión del proyecto, obteniéndose datos objetivos, muchos aun sin evaluar totalmente, de dos asignaturas. Un 10% de los temas explicados tenían errores. Se hicieron evaluaciones con la plataforma Kahoot! y mediante cuestionarios tipo test. Las preguntas tenían cuatro posibles respuestas, de las que solo una era cierta. Se realizaron además un examen parcial liberatorio y un examen final donde se ubicaron preguntas de los temas con errores y sin errores. Resultados. Aunque muchos datos están aún siendo evaluados estadísticamente para conocer el grado de contribución de los temas con errores respecto a sin errores, así como de la gamificación, los resultados sugieren una nota superior y del orden de un 8,2% en los temas con errores. Estudiamos la dieta del búho terrestre Athene cunicularia punensis en cuatro territorios dentro del archipiélago de Jambelí, provincia de El Oro, suroeste de Ecuador, entre noviembre de 2015 y abril de 2016, mediante la recolección y análisis de 182 egagrópilas. Los artrópodos constituyeron el principal grupo-presa en frecuencia de aparición (86.5%), seguido por los mamíferos (12%) y las aves (1.5%). En cuanto a biomasa consumida, los mamíferos (Mus musculus y Rattus rattus) aportaron 58.5%, los artrópodos 33.2% y las aves 8.2%. No encontramos diferencias significativas de la dieta entre las cuatro parejas estudiadas. En este trabajo se confirmó el rol de Athene cunicularia como un importante depredador de plagas como roedores introducidos y artrópodos potencialmente dañinos.
