This cross-sectional study focused on the emotional and behavioural responses of a young adult population during the COVID-19-related quarantine in April 2020, in Greece. The study was conducted through an online survey. A total of 1559 young adults, aged 18-30 years, completed Steele's Social Responsibility Motivation Scale and the De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale, and answered questions about compliance with instructions, quarantine-related behaviours and coping strategies. According to the results, participants displayed a relatively high sense of social responsibility (M = 16.09, SD = 2.13) and a trend towards moderate feeling of loneliness (M = 2.65, SD = 1.62); young women reported significantly higher levels of loneliness than men. The majority complied with instructions often (46.4%) or always (44.8%). Significantly more women created a new social media account and used the social media longer than 5 h/day, compared with men. Resorting to religion, practicing sports and sharing thoughts and feelings about COVID-19 with others predicted higher levels of social responsibility; humour, practicing sports and sharing thoughts and feelings about COVID-19 with others predicted lower levels of loneliness. Conclusively, COVID-19 is expected to have a significant psychological impact on young adults. Currently, Greece is going through the second quarantine period. This study raises awareness about loneliness in young adults during the COVID-19-related quarantine and highlights the importance of developing online programmes, attractive to younger people, to nurture adaptive coping strategies against loneliness. Essa substituição possibilita o aumento da capacidade de tratamento, melhora a qualidade do efluente, reduz o tamanho e consequentemente os custos de construção, além de permitir a captura do biogás e o aproveitamento do lodo como biofertilizante. Como exemplo, analisaram-se as vantagens de aplicar o reator UASB seguido de LP em substituição ao sistema convencional de LE que se encontra em operação na cidade de Campina Grande, Paraíba. A atual ETE de Campina Grande é constituída por duas lagoas anaeróbias, duas lagoas facultativas e quatro lagoas de maturação, com capacidade para tratar 13.000 m3/d. A análise mostrou que todas as vantagens do novo sistema podem ser materializadas no caso de Campina Grande. Quando se substitui o sistema convencional pela nova alternativa, a capacidade de tratamento da ETE, com a infraestrutura existente, aumentaria para 40.000 m3/d se o efluente fosse utilizado para fertirrigação ou 20.000 m3/d se o efluente fosse utilizado para fins industriais; nesse caso, a remoção de nutrientes é necessária. Assim, todo o efluente seria utilizado de maneira produtiva e não haveria mais descarga nas águas de superfície. Aiton posee entre 50 y 60 especies originarias del Mediterráneo, Asia central y Sudáfrica. M. incana (L.) W. T. Aiton, nativa del sur de Europa, se encuentra naturalizada en otras regiones del mundo. En Argentina es cultivada como ornamental. A partir de observaciones florísticas se halló una población naturalizada, que se autoperpetúa sin intervención del hombre, en las costas de la Patagonia Argentina. El objetivo de este trabajo es reportar por primera vez la naturalización de M. incana en Argentina. M&M: Para la identificación de la especie se siguieron los métodos clásicos de taxonomía, se consultó bibliografía específica y se contrastó el material recolectado con imágenes digitales del lectotipo. Se recolectaron semillas de la población naturalizada y se evaluó el poder germinativo a través de un ensayo de germinación. El material recolectado que documenta el presente trabajo fue depositado en el herbario ARC de la Universidad Nacional del Comahue. Resultados: Se describe a Matthiola incana. Se incluyen nombres vulgares y datos sobre distribución, hábitat, ecología y usos. Se presenta una serie de fotografías de campo y bajo microscopio estereoscópico para complementar la descripción. El ensayo de germinación demostró que el 95% de las semillas germina a las 24 hs a 25 °C. Conclusiones: Se reporta por primera vez para Argentina la naturalización de Matthiola incana, única especie del género en el país hasta el momento. O IMC e APC foram mensurados pelo protocolo PROESP-BR em 2019.  A análise foi realizada com teste t de student, qui-quadrado, alfa de Cronbach e modelos de equações estruturais (MEE). Resultados: O QAPA apresentou confiabilidade superior a 0,70 e parâmetros adequados no MEE (AIC/BIC: 149/151; SRMR: 0,0562; RMSEA: 0,074; CFMIN/DF: 2,558; CFI/TLI: 0,92/0,90). O escore QAPA em 2020 se associou com maior APC (b: 0,51; p: 0,001) e menor IMC no ano 2019 (b:-0,17; p: 0,001). Conclusão: O QAPA apresenta elevada confiabilidade e consistência se respondido pelos pais ou responsáveis (crianças de 6 a 8 anos) e por crianças de 9-11 anos. Crianças com um elevado escore no QAPA em 2020 apresentavam elevada APC e reduzido IMC em 2019. O QAPA é uma medida consistente e confiável para ser aplicada em pais, responsáveis das crianças de 6-8 anos e naqueles escolares com 9-11 anos. We find that comparatively more misinformation circulates on Twitter, while news media tends to reinforce public health recommendations like social distancing. We find that exposure to social media is associated with misperceptions regarding basic facts about COVID-19 while the inverse is true for news media. These misperceptions are in turn associated with lower compliance with social distancing measures. We thus draw a clear link from misinformation circulating on social media, notably Twitter, to behaviours and attitudes that potentially magnify the scale and lethality of COVID-19. Wheatley Description An account of the resource The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 and subsequent COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant global public health burden, leading to an urgent need for effective therapeutic strategies. In this article, we review the role of SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibodies (nAbs) in the clinical management of COVID-19 and provide an overview of recent randomized controlled trial data evaluating nAbs in the ambulatory, hospitalized and prophylaxis settings. Two nAb cocktails (casirivimab/imdevimab and bamlanivimab/etesevimab) and one nAb monotherapy (bamlanivimab) have been granted Emergency Use Authorization by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of ambulatory patients who have a high risk of progressing to severe disease, and the European Medicines Agency has similarly recommended both cocktails and bamlanivimab monotherapy for use in COVID-19 patients who do not require supplemental oxygen and who are at high risk of progressing to severe COVID-19. Efficacy of nAbs in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 has been varied, potentially highlighting the challenges of antiviral treatment in patients who have already progressed to severe disease. However, early data suggest a promising prophylactic role for nAbs in providing effective COVID-19 protection. We also review the risk of treatment-emergent antiviral resistant “escape” mutants and strategies to minimize their occurrence, discuss the susceptibility of newly emerging SARS-COV-2 variants to nAbs, as well as explore administration challenges and ways to improve patient access.
