Desde antes, y reforzado por Snow, sabemos que la evidencia de los datos -por entonces, un puñado-, puede acercarnos más a un mundo previsible, fuera de nuestras especulaciones o temores. Es un hecho que sobre la CoViD 19 carecemos de certezas: si quitamos la capa de trascendidos, expresiones de deseo y manifiestas fake news, veremos que la ciencia está investigando sobre la marcha los comportamientos de un virus que aún no conoce por completo. Desde Snow a las mieles de la actual big data nos diferencia la escala, un potencial de rastreo incomparable, el nivel de detalle de los datos (granularidad) y la facilidad de acceso como de permutaciones (literalmente, de computaciones) que podemos hacer con esos datos. Sigue siendo procedente preguntarse por la validez de los cruces de información. Conocer el valor herramental de una tecnología no debería estar sólo en su novedad, deberíamos ver sus potenciales usos sin descontar, en ningún caso, si las interpelaciones que las personas que la usan realizan son efectivamente válidos.</text>

                <text>Los que trabajamos en salud indígena sabemos que es muy común que los pobladores indígenas o campesinos sean representados como culpables de sus problemas de salud, desconociendo que los pobres indicadores de salud en los lugares con mayor porcentaje de población indígena son, en gran medida, consecuencia de un Estado negligente incapaz de garantizar acceso y disponibilidad de servicios de salud de calidad a las comunidades indígenas del país. En el marco de la pandemia del COVID-19 que viene afectando intensamente a la población indígena amazónica del Perú, los pueblos indígenas están mostrando que sus prácticas culturales, ignoradas y discriminadas por el sector salud pueden contribuir en el cuidado de aquellos afectados por el COVID-19. A partir del análisis de la iniciativa del Comando Matico en la Amazonía peruana mostramos la capacidad de los pueblos indígenas para implementar iniciativas interculturales autónomas al Estado central. Este artículo muestra que en el Perú no nos faltan normativas detallando el enfoque intercultural en la atención de salud. Lo que hace falta es reconocer la importancia de pensar que los conocimientos ancestrales de los pueblos indígenas pueden ser claves para atender sus necesidades y las de otros sectores de la población.</text>

                <text>The on-call component of a dental core training (DCT) post in oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) is considered to be the most daunting and challenging aspect of the job. The average trainee is a singly-qualified dentist with limited knowledge and experience of managing OMFS presentations. Given the short duration of DCT posts, there is a continual rotation of junior staff through OMFS departments with a varying skillset and knowledge mix. As such, the consistent recording of appropriate information remains a constant challenge. The coronavirus pandemic has presented a unique situation in which the majority of dental foundation trainees (DFTs) entering OMFS DCT posts will only have around six months experience of independent practice. This lack of experience and onerous on-call workload could be a potentially dangerous combination, especially during nightshift patterns of on-call. We demonstrate that implementation of an on-call bleep-sheet proforma provides a validated, standardised, systematic, and chronological method of record keeping that exceeds the minimum required standard of clinical governance, in an era where junior trainees entering OMFS will have had even more limited experience than normal.</text>

                <text>O artigo discute a valoração e importância da produção para o autoconsumo na reprodução social das unidades familiares e caracteriza os alimentos autoconsumidos. Vale-se da pesquisa 'Agricultura Familiar, Desenvolvimento Local e Pluriatividade' (UFRGS/UFPel/ CNPq-2003) que propiciou a formação de um banco de dados com informações sobre a dinâmica da agricultura familiar em quatro regiões distintas da geografia gaúcha, suas fontes e tipos de renda, entre estas o autoconsumo. Trazer este debate significa retomar um tema pouco discutido até então, e que, embora marginalizado ou considerado sem importância, desenvolve importante papel como renda não monetária, fortalece a segurança alimentar e adentra esferas da sociabilidade e identidade social. Além da introdução, apresenta-se o papel do autoconsumo na agricultura familiar, o cálculo da produção para o autoconsumo, discussão dos objetivos e resultados, e considerações finais. Os resultados demonstram que a produção para o autoconsumo é uma estratégia recorrente pelas unidades familiares e se diferencia de acordo com a dinâmica da agricultura familiar. Diferença esta expressa em valores relativos (%) e no número de estabelecimentos pertencentes a estratos diferenciados de autoconsumo, e pouco nos tipos de alimentos produzidos para este fim, observando-se uma homogeneidade dos hábitos alimentares.The article discusses the value and importance of the self-consumption production in the social reproduction of the family units and it characterizes the food self-consumed. The paper used the research 'Family Farm, Local Development and Pluriactivity' (UFRGS/ UFPel/CNPq-2003) that propitiated the formation of a database with information on the dynamics of the family farm in four areas different from the geography of the Rio Grande do Sul, your sources and types of income, among these the self-consumption. To bring this debate means to retake a theme little discussed until then, and that, although marginalized or considered without importance, it develops important role as income non monetary, strengthens the food security and it penetrates spheres of the sociability and social identity. Besides the introduction, is presented the role of the self-consumption in the family farm, the calculation of the self-consumption production, discussion of the objectives and results, and final considerations. The results demonstrate that the self-consumption production is an appealing strategy for the family units and it differs in agreement with the dynamics of the family farm. It differentiates this expresses in relative values (%) and in the number of establishments belonging to differentiated strata of self-consumption, and a little in the types of foods produced for this end, being observed a homogeneity of the alimentary habits.</text>

'Higher-up' residents legitimize their feelings of superiority by stigmatizing 'lowlanders' as taboo, diseased (with porcine cysticercosis, swine flu) 'filthy pigs, stuck in the muck' (atolados na lama). Animalizing inhabitants' identities demotes them to nonpersons. Besides infections, children suffer social stigma, ostracism, and barriers for accessing care.                 <text>Con base en planteamientos de Stephen Toulmin se presentan algunos aspectos del devenir histórico de la Química, en relación con el concepto sustancia. En un recorrido somero y no lineal, el texto intenta mostrar algunas complejas redes que se tejen entre los diversos componentes de lo que Toulmin denomina 'ecología intelectual'; así como los nichos de la racionalidad y la representación, en las dinámicas de la misma. Esta aproximación al devenir del concepto, permite identificar preguntas y problemas que, con diferentes significados, énfasis y matices, aún están vigentes; modelos explicativos con los que se ha pretendido dar respuesta a dichas cuestiones y algunas formas de validación que permiten la aceptación contextual de los mismos. Finalmente, proponemos posibles implicaciones de estos análisis para la enseñanza.Taking into account Stephen Toulmin´s approaches, we will look at some aspects in the historical development of Chemistry connected to the concept of substance. In a superficial and non-linear manner, the text tries to show some complex networks that developed between the diverse components named by Toulmin as 'intellectual ecology', such as the niches of rationality and the representations among them. This aproximation to the outcoming allows to identify the questions and the problems which with different meanings, emphasis and shades are still current; explanatory models which have pretended giving an answer to those questions and some forms of validity which permit the contextual acceptance of them. Finally, we propose possible implications of these analysis to teaching.</text>

                <text>Children and young people risk being ‘disproportionately harmed’ by the COVID-19 pandemic. Whilst an evolving body of literature focuses on the impact of the pandemic on the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, less attention has been paid to the collection of qualitative, exploratory data. The aim of this study was to examine young people in North East England’s experiences of COVID-19 and associated control measures. Flexible, qualitative diaries were collected with 31 young people aged 13–17 for six weeks between July and October 2020. Diary extracts were curated using Instagram Direct Messaging (DM), email and text messaging. At the end of this study, participants took part in a follow-up interview (conducted by telephone or Zoom), asking them to reflect on their diary entries. Thematic analysis of diaries and interviews yielded three central themes: (1) impacts upon mental health and emotional wellbeing; (2) disruptions and changes to education and school life; and (3) frustration, burden and responsibility. These findings highlight acute mental health impacts (loneliness, isolation, anxiety) as well as longer-term repercussions from disrupted education (missed parts of curriculum, home schooling, cancelled exams, periods of isolation) on young people aged 13–17 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.</text>

                <text>Objective To assess the impact of describing an antibody-positive test result using the terms Immunity and Passport or Certificate, alone or in combination, on perceived risk of becoming infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and protective behaviours.Design 2×3 experimental design.Setting Online.Participants 1204 adults from a UK research panel.Intervention Participants were randomised to receive one of six descriptions of an antibody test and results showing SARS-CoV-2 antibodies, differing in the terms describing the type of test (Immunity vs Antibody) and the test result (Passport vs Certificate vs Test).Main outcome measures Primary outcome: proportion of participants perceiving no risk of infection with SARS-CoV-2 given an antibody-positive test result. Other outcomes include: intended changes to frequency of hand washing and physical distancing.Results When using the term Immunity (vs Antibody), 19.1% of participants (95% CI 16.1% to 22.5%) (vs 9.8% (95% CI 7.5% to 12.4%)) perceived no risk of catching coronavirus given an antibody-positive test result (adjusted OR (AOR): 2.91 (95% CI 1.52 to 5.55)). Using the terms Passport or Certificate—as opposed to Test—had no significant effect (AOR: 1.24 (95% CI 0.62 to 2.48) and AOR: 0.96 (95% CI 0.47 to 1.99) respectively). There was no significant interaction between the effects of the test and result terminology. Across groups, perceiving no risk of infection was associated with an intention to wash hands less frequently (AOR: 2.32 (95% CI 1.25 to 4.28)); there was no significant association with intended avoidance of physical contact (AOR: 1.37 (95% CI 0.93 to 2.03)).Conclusions Using the term Immunity (vs Antibody) to describe antibody tests for SARS-CoV-2 increases the proportion of people believing that an antibody-positive result means they have no risk of catching coronavirus in the future, a perception that may be associated with less frequent hand washing.Trial registration number Open Science Framework: https://osf.io/tjwz8/files/</text>
