Este estudo buscar investigar a realidade atual da agricultura familiar e do PAA no Estado de Mato Grosso; comparar os resultados produtivos, número de municípios e produtores beneficiados ao longo de 2003 a 2013 nas modalidades do programa e com ambos os recursos do MDS e MDA; os benefícios e as dificuldades no acesso ao programa. Para a realização do trabalho adotou-se o levantamento bibliográfico e dados disponibilidades pela CONAB. Os resultados apontam que o PAA no estado de Mato Grosso atingiu maior número de agricultores nos anos de 2010-2012, garantindo a geração de renda familiar, organização (associações e cooperativas) entre os agricultores, fornecimento de alimentos e o desenvolvimento local.
