              <text>A agricultura familiar se configura, atualmente, como uma parcela de grande representatividade entre os produtores rurais brasileiros, no entanto, não se trata de um bloco homogêneo, e alguns de seus subgrupos enfrentam situações de vulnerabilidade. Considera-se vulnerabilidade, neste estudo, uma consequência da redução de acesso a ativos como capital humano, social, físico, financeiro e natural (ELLIS, 2000), sem os quais os agricultores familiares ficam em situação de extrema dificuldade, tornando-se insustentável sua sobrevivência no campo e deixando-lhes como única estratégia o êxodo rural. Assim entendido, este estudo tem como objetivo analisar por que os agricultores familiares da região de Marechal Candido Rondon estão deixando suas atividades, quais fatores levaram a isso e quais as carências em seus ativos. Para tanto, organizou-se um estudo por meio de entrevistas com ex-agricultores e, ao avaliar os dados, concluiu-se que as motivações para o êxodo rural contemporâneo são multidimensionais, sendo possível, pela análise de cluster, identificar quatro perfis distintos de motivações, bem como que as principais carências se apresentam no capital humano e físico.</text>
