Creator An entity primarily responsible for making the resource Adrián Hernández, René Ramos, Jesús Sánchez Description An account of the resource Con el objetivo de evaluar la eficiencia del policultivo yuca-frijol (Manihot esculenta Crantz-Phaseolus vulgaris) y determinar el arreglo topológico más adecuado se desarrolló un estudio durante los años 1993-1995 en el Instituto de Investigaciones Hortícolas “Liliana Dimitrova”, provincia de La Habana, Cuba, sobre un suelo Ferralítico Rojo Compactado. Se utilizó la tecnología de canteros de 1,40 m y un diseño de bloques al azar con cuatro repeticiones. Se evaluaron nueve tratamientos con tres momentos de siembra y tres distribuciones en el espacio así como los testigos en monocultivo. El mejor arreglo espacial para la yuca fue cuando se plantó al centro del cantero (28,3 t/ha) y el frijol se sembró veinte días después a ambos lados de la yuca. El frijol también brindó su mayor rendimiento (1,53 t/ha) con este arreglo. En el cálculo de todas las combinaciones asociadas se obtuvo un uso equivalente de la tierra (UET) de 1,01 - 1,85.
