Doctora en Ciencias Biológicas de la Universidad de La Habana y herpetóloga del Instituto de Ecología y Sistemática de Cuba. Persona de gran prestigio internacional por su notable producción de artículos científicos y libros, dentro de los que se destacaron “The Iguanid Lizards of Cuba”, Libro Rojo de los Vertebrados de Cuba” y “Diversidad de anfibios y reptiles de Cuba”. Este último trabajo le valió para obtener en 2004 el Premio Nacional al Mejor trabajo de Investigación otorgado por la Academia de Ciencias de Cuba. La Dra Rodríguez Schettino dictó conferencias en importantes universidades de diversos países del mundo y contribuyó notablemente como par evaluador de prestigiosas revistas internacionales. Fue notable su contribución como autora y evaluadora de artículos en nuestra Revista Colombiana de Ciencia Animal - RECIA. Los investigadores que tuvimos el privilegio de conocerla la recordaremos por su rigor científico, su calidad humana y su férrea voluntad para el trabajo, por difícil que este fuera, durante toda su vida.
