Las especies que motivan este artículo son características de los bosques en galería de la Mesopotamia. Las mismas parecen estar extendiendo su distribución geográfica hacia el sur, al igual que otras plantas vasculares y animales del área Platense de la provincia. Con el objetivo de comprobar si se puede atribuir este corrimiento al cambio climático se calculó la dis­tancia de avance de estos taxa y de otras plantas registradas reciente­mente al sur de su distribución conocida en tres localidades del norte de Buenos Aires. Esta distancia se comparó con el corrimiento estimado de las isohietas e isotermas. Se destaca que existe concordancia entre el cambio biogeográfico y la tendencia observada de cambio climático en la región.
