El objetivo de esta investigación fue conocer la variabilidad climática de un fragmento de la llanura costera del estado de Nayarit, México, área predominante de cobertura manglar, l agunas y uso agropecuario. La investigación se expone en tres partes: caracterización climática, análisis de variabilidad (anual, mensual e interdecadal) y su teleconexión con índices ENSO y PDO. La variación interdecadal demostró un aumento de la temperatura mínima, disminución de la temperatura máxima y disminución de precipitación en las últimas dos décadas. Se encontró 30% de correlación con ENSO (las correlaciones más altas en los meses de verano) y 25% con PDO.
