Se utilizaron sustratos fibra de coco, cascarilla de arroz, solos y en mezcla (70 % - 30 %, 50 % - 50 %, 30 % - 70 %), comparados con un testigo en suelo, con cobertura plástica. Se evaluaron las variables físicas y químicas del fruto, como peso, diámetro, longitud, contenido de sólidos solubles, acidez titulable y firmeza. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques completos al azar (BCA) con 6 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones. Las mezclas de los sustratos obtuvieron mejor respuesta para la variable firmeza que el tratamiento suelo, además, el tratamiento 100 % cascarilla de arroz obtuvo una respuesta superior en las variables grados Brix y acidez titulable, permitiendo generar una propuesta innovadora y competitiva para la producción de fresa en áreas reducidas en Nariño.
