Es objetivo del presente estudio aplicar la metodología de integración de procesos, Water Pinch a una unidad  despojadora de aguas agrias de Refinería Cienfuegos S.A, para minimizar las aguas  residuales sulfurosas y disminuir la contaminación de la bahía que recibe estos  residuales. Esta tecnología permite identificar posibles vías de recuperación y  reutilización del agua, sobre la base de los intervalos de concentración de  contaminantes. Para lograr este propósito se evaluó dicha torre despojadora con la  ayuda del software Water Pinch, lo que aportó una red de distribución optimizada como  propuesta de mejora tecnológica. Esto facilitó recuperar y reutilizar 667 757,28 m3 de  agua al año con ahorro de 1 035 023,78 CUC.
