En éste, se realiza un análisis a los referentes teóricos de (Luhmann, 2006), la concepción del cambio de José Martí y el enfoque sociológico de la alimentación de (Díaz, 2005). Para ello, la investigación se apoyó en los métodos generales del conocimiento científico y en el análisis de contenido. El empleo de estos métodos permitió obtener los siguientes resultados: las estructuras mediadoras que intervienen en la seguridad alimentaria familiar (poder, dinero y lenguaje); el pensamiento sociológico de Martí referido a las convenciones sociales y el método de la disgregación progresiva en función de explicar las problemáticas en torno a las dimensiones de la seguridad alimentaria familiar; y la perspectiva aportada por Díaz sobre la necesidad de establecer vínculos entre la producción y el consumo de alimentos.
