El siguiente trabajo se desarrolló  durante los años 2013 y 2014 en la Unidad Básica de Producción Cooperativa  Potrerillo, ubicada al centro de la provincia, tributaria a la Unidad Empresarial de Base  Melanio Hernández, en Tuinucú, Empresa Azucarera de Sancti Spíritus; el mismo tuvo como objetivo definir losproblemas críticos asociados al rendimiento agrícola de la caña  de azúcar y las acciones inmediatas en ejecuciónpara su solución, con los pronósticos  para su recuperación.Para ello se realizó un diagnóstico participativo y se identificaron  15 problemas fundamentalesque afectaron demanera directa el rendimiento de la caña  de azúcar, con la presencia de todos los cooperativistas,a partir de estosel grupo de  expertos y los cooperativistas, confeccionaron la matriz de Vester; con esta herramienta  se determinaron y clasificaron a partir del tipo de relaciones entre las variables, los  problemas críticos, activos, pasivos e independientes. A través de una ecuación de  regresión, se logró predecir la recuperación por años del rendimiento agrícola de la  Cooperativa, sostenible a partir del 2017.
