              <text>Resumen: El presente artículo de investigación pretende analizar la conflictividad social provocada por el escape de gases tóxicos de empresas petroquímicas, localizadas en cercanías de la localidad de Ingeniero White, en el año 2000. Los reclamos generalizados en torno la salud, el trabajo y el medio ambiente provocaron una politización aguda de la situación entre diversos actores sociales. La lucha política de los vecinos de White implicó la puesta en consideración de diversas modalidades de protesta social, demostrando formas de organización y una serie de respuestas sectoriales de parte del poder político y económico.  Palabras claves: conflictividad social, empresas petroquímicas, organizaciones políticas, Ecología Política.     Abstract: This research article tries to analyze social conflicts caused by the escape of toxic gases from petrochemical companies located around the town of Ingeniero White, in 2000. The generalized complaints around health, job and the environment caused an acute politicization of the situation among different social actors. The political struggle of residents from White implied to consider various modalities of social protest, showing organization forms and a series of sectoral responses from the political and economical power.  Key words: social conflict, petrochemical companies, political organizations, political ecology.</text>
