Las altas temperaturas alcanzadas, generalmente atribuidas al cambio  climático, y el incremento del nivel de vida de la sociedad, continúan incrementando la  demanda energética para establecer las condiciones de confort térmico en las  edificaciones.  La climatización solar, aunque contiene una tecnología ya madura, su nivel de introducción en el mercado y su aceptación por parte de los diseñadores de  edificaciones, es taxativa. Este trabajo expone la viabilidad de estos proyectos,  identifica las barreras de tipo no tecnológicas que dificultan el uso y la implantación de  la energía solar para sistemas de climatización, y finalmente, en él se declaran criterios  y recomendaciones para superar dichas obstáculos.
