La tecnología de sensores remotos en plataformas espaciales, por medio de índices de vegetación o IV, permite realizar una aproximación en esta dirección. Este trabajo discute un esquema de modelación paramétrica (indirecta) de la curva de crecimiento de la biomasa en píxeles individuales de sensores Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer o AVHRR y Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer o MODIS, permitiendo así su caracterización usando algoritmos de pre y post-proceso. Los resultados obtenidos de la aplicación de los algoritmos discutidos en este trabajo, permiten la obtención de curvas anuales del crecimiento a la escala de 100 ha (AVHRR) y 6.25 ha (MODIS), que pueden ser usadas en estudios de cambio climático y del manejo de agostaderos en México.
