O trabalho de campo foi realizado em Ituporanga, SC, durante três safras consecutivas. As cultivares de ameixa avaliadas foram: Irati, Centenária, Rosa Mineira, Januária, Pluma 7, Reubenel, Carazinho e Santa Rosa Polirosa. Todas as cultivares apresentaram alta perda de frutos devido ao ataque da mosca-das-frutas. Entretanto na cultivar Irati, cuja colheita ocorre até meados de dezembro, o nível de danos causados pela mosca foi menor. Os resultados sugerem ser necessário desenvolver-se outras estratégias de manejo do inseto além da triagem de cultivares.
