Foram feitas cinco repetições quinzenais com doze fêmeas cada no experimento 1 (parâmetros biológicos) e seis repetições quinzenais com trinta fêmeas no experimento 2 (parâmetros ecológicos e comportamentais), durante o verão e o inverno de 1999. Foram coletados dados relativos à temperatura e umidade relativa do ar. O deslocamento das fêmeas ingurgitadas, assim como o período de pré-postura, postura e incubação dos ovos, são diretamente influenciados pela temperatura. As fêmeas ingurgitadas se deslocam mais no inverno durante o período de pré-postura, mas tal comportamento não provoca perdas significativas de peso, nem provoca diminuição na produção de ovos.
