Proposal for the Implementation and Administration of a Trout Production and Commercialization Company

Abstract This study was carried out in the Columbe parish of the Colta canton due to this area's availability of water and favorable climatic conditions for trout farming. Data were collected through a survey consisting of 20 closed questions, of which 5 were considered due to their relevance in the research work. The objective was to determine the acceptance of trout consumption for the possible implementation of a production and commercialization company, and to determine how much could be charged per kilogram. The results showed that 47.24% of the those surveyed consume trout biweekly, 61% consider its taste very pleasant, 39% consume trout for its nutritional properties, 61% would like the product to be delivered directly to their home, and the same percentage are willing to pay 6-7.50 dollars per kilogram of trout. The results demonstrated the feasibility of the proposal for the implementation and management of a trout production and marketing company on site.
