En este artículo tenemos como objetivo conocer las características demográficas de la población de esta región y  las posibles causas que influyen en la percepción de riesgo de la población ante los riesgos ambientales. La necesidad de mejorar los sistemas de alerta temprana y comunicación de riesgos ambientales, perfeccionar los planes de educación en temas de gestión de riesgo, son algunos de los aspectos más importantes encontrados durante esta investigación.
