En esta investigación se presenta una relación bibliográfica en Latinoamérica acerca de la comunicación del cambio climático con el fin de contribuir a su discusión en la región, además de identificar los principales hitos de la cobertura en perspectiva comparada con el ámbito internacional. La investigación bibliográfica identifica numerosas similitudes entre nueve países latinoamericanos, la falta de intercambios sobre la realidad de la región y una serie de ausencias. También se observan semejanzas considerables entre la cobertura latinoamericana y la internacional.
