Durante el ciclo otoño-invierno 2011-2012, plantas de chile piquín del ecotipo chilpaya fueron sometidas a cinco tratamientos de fertilización: arena + solución nutritiva inorgánica (testigo, F1); arena + TVC (F2); arena:C (relación 1:1; v/v) + TVC (F3); arena:VC (relación 1:1; v/v) + TVC (F4), y arena:C:VC (relación 2:1:1; v/v) + TVC (F5). Las plantas cultivadas con el tratamiento testigo (F1) presentaron mayor rendimiento, superando en 26.10, 9.00, 29.47 y 29.05 % al rendimiento obtenido en las plantas cultivadas con los tratamientos F2, F3, F4 y F5, respectivamente. Entre los tratamientos orgánicos, el tratamiento F3 produjo mayor rendimiento, seguido del tratamiento F2. El estudio sugiere que el TVC en combinación con la mezcla de arena: C o sólo con arena, podría ser una alternativa para la producción orgánica de chile piquín bajo invernadero.
