Public Policy in Project Rural Settlement: Contemporary Challenges

The aim is to know the rural settlement 'Brejo dos Altos' to discuss whether the laws and public policies would be sufficient to encourage sustainable production and strengthening family agriculture to be able to promote the new rural development model. It used bibliographical and qualitative research to analyze the concepts and agrarian policy objectives, land policy, land reform, settlement and seated, according to the data collected. With land reform was an improvement in the quality of life of farmers, however, there are numerous challenges to be overcome in order to achieve the objectives of land policy.
